This is the official Drupal User group in Kenya.
We seek to join up our efforts as Drupal user and developers across the country and the region and make our Drupal experience awesome.
iHub connection?
Though I live in Silicon Valley, I am interested in what is happening in Kenya, and would like to know more about the state of the Drupal community. Are there people hosting meetups? Does anyone work at iHub? Do you get regular Drupal freelance work? If you would be willing to fill me in, perhaps we could discuss possible collaborations. Thanks for your time.

We have a project already running at http://drupal-kenya.rhcloud.com/
Eventually we'll host it on our own perhaps. As of the moment it is hosted on OpenShift for free.
I am requesting for volunteer time from all of us to get it up to speed. We'll need a project lead to give specific direction for the whole thing and then we split up the duties among ourselves.
Show the website some love. There's a twitter account I'd opened (@drupal254) which we can assign the responsibility to some people also.

Whoever opened up this group...that is cool. The original creator made it and went to slumber. I know many guys who use Drupal and I personally make my own themes from scratch. So, I suggest we have our first meeting in Nairobi soon! What do the rest feel?

The big question is where do we go from here as drupal developers and users in Kenya? Am thinking meetups, training, a joint development effort...M-PESA module anyone? Let's hear your contributions.

Greetings All.
I'm not sure what it is this group is looking for, or its members interests or levels of expertise. Drupal is a great choice for building a small personal site, an NGO site or a site for the Government of Kenya. Are there special features or modules or aspects of Drupal this group is interested in?
I have done a few sites in Drupal and am doing a lot of ongoing work with Public Access TV stations here in Vermont (which has many rural areas like Kenya) using Drupal.
See some examples of my work in Drupal at http://www.triangul.us.
