Drupal Commons vs Open Atrium

Hi All,

Just wanted to get your opinions on Drupal Commons and Open Atrium as an intranet solution. I've googled and found quite a few results, but I wanted to get a more recent and closer opinion of these 2 install profiles.

My impressions:

Open Atrium (http://openatrium.com/)
Pros:

  • UI looks great - people are more likely to use it. Really, the UI (look & feel, not ux), is stunning.
  • Features that come right out of the box, specifically: shoutbox, case tracker, groups

    Drupal Install in Plesk 10

Anybody with experience installing Drupal w/ Plesk 10?

I just moved to a dedicated virtual, and Plesk is the default Control Panel. Logged in as admin (of Plesk), I created a subscription for my main site example.com, and had to create another user (userx) for it. However, I can't login to control panel w/ userx, but yet have ftp access, and I've set ssh access as well.

    Future presentations

We've pretty much run through the list of current people's offerings on presentations, so rather than wait any longer, I want to get this discussion started. This will give people time to think and prepare for the next meeting or two (or three).

The question is, what do you all want to see demonstrated and/or learn about? A secondary question is, on which topic(s) do you want to present?

    Node.js

Ok....so our after-meeting discussion conversation got me to stay up into the wee hours of the night researching all the hype about node.js. Here is my breakdown, for anyone who cares lol:

    the one sentence answer:
It is exactly what it says it is, server-side javascript.

    the long answer lol:

    Future Meetings

The meeting Friday night was a great success. It looks like we have a winner. (At least until something better comes along.) It's true the meeting was on a Friday, which can be a sticking point for some people, but that's what I have available to me at the moment, so I'm making use of it.

There were 13 people present. We had pizza, beer, hard cider, soda, water, and cookies available (I think most folks didn't know about the cookies).

    SandCamp or bust . . .

At the meeting on Wednesday, I promised I would post something so that we could organize going to SandCamp and reducing costs as much as possible. Well, here it is. :^)

    Introduction:
There are two areas of interest in costs and reducing them as much as possible: travel and lodging. (Everything else is either pretty well covered, or on a person-by-person basis.)

    Travel:
