Hi!

I've seen a really nice feature on the BBC mobile site, where you can send a free, short SMS style message direct to the studio and wondered if anyone else thinks this would be an interesting feature to replicate in Drupal.

I work for a TV company, and we host our site on Drupal. We have been using Drupal for 3 years, and I have been working with it for 2 and a bit years now. I would like to use a system like this during live broadcasts, so presenters or someone behind the scenes could load up the latest submissions and read them out on air. There could be a custom interface targeted specifically towards certain devices (I'm thinking iPad, but it could be anything), or the interface could sit nicely inside the current admin theme.

My main question is; Would something like this require its own data structure (tables etc), or could the comments system be extended in any way to achieve this?

Any input would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Kev.

For some context, here is the BBC site:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/touch/

Their implementation works best in a Webkit-based browser.

Click on the little Speech icon in the top-right of the page.

I admire the valuable information you offer in your articles. I will bookmark your blog and have my children check up here often. I am quite sure they will learn lots of new stuff here than anybody else!
