I have developed and will be teaching an 8-week intensive online course on mastering Drupal. I've built over 50 Drupal sites and have a great deal of experience training people to build sites with Drupal.

Programmer's Course
I would be very interested in a programmer's course such as this.

I am interested in this course, I want to learn it so I can help someone with their website, I already have a web design certificate. How much does it cost? and considering I want to help someone who already has their site running, would I have to find a web host for a site of my own to learn drupal or can I learn it and then worry about creating a site later?

As for a web host, the course includes a hosting account and site for you to work on throughout the course. After the 8 weeks you can move the site to any host of your choice.

My guess would be that drupal.org's clocks are bonked - unless they are showing different times to different folks.

You can choose which one.
You can choose which one. I'll mostly be teaching Drupal 6, but also showing the differences in Drupal 7. For your sandbox, you can have Drupal 6 or 7 or both.
The reason I'll mostly be teaching in 6, is because I want people to be able to be able to build themselves a complete site, including ecommerce, over the 8 weeks of the course. Some things in Drupal 7, especially ecommerce, aren't quite there yet. Though if the site your building is relatively simple, Drupal 7 may work better for you.
