At the end of the day, you will walk away with the following:
- A functioning Drupal Commerce website;
- The ability to accept payments with credit cards via PayPal;
- Hosting your website and a basic understanding of web servers;
- An introduction to the user community that focuses on this technology;
- A basic understanding of SSL security and PCI compliance as it relates to your website;
- Connections with a qualified partner who you can turn to for support;
- The confidence to take the next steps of customizing and adding products to your new Drupal Commerce website!
During the course of this workshop, we will also briefly touch upon some light administrative tasks such as performing backups and installing plug-ins to extend the functionality of your Drupal Commerce website.

25 or 26 January?
Hi Christefano. According to the Sandcamp page on the half-day training sessions, this session is scheduled for "Thursday January 26th." Mistake on that page? Could sew confusion..
Drupal Payday is on Friday
Drupal Payday is on Friday the 25th. Can you post the URL where you saw it scheduled on the 26th? Thanks!
oops, here's the URL
oops, here's the SANDcamp 2013 training page URL:

Thanks, I've emailed the camp
Thanks, I've emailed the camp organizers. Drupal Payday is most certainly on Friday, January, 25, 2013.
I think the "Thursday January 26" text was copied from last year's website. January 26, 2012, was a Thursday.
Transportation?
I'd be interested in attending the camp, but San Diego is a stretch for me transportation-wise; is anyone going to the camp from Droplabs (or around there), & ideally, returning the same day? I'd be willing to pitch for up to half the transportation cost (~gas).
If you're going I can give
If you're going I can give you a ride. I'll be leaving from Droplabs on Friday morning. I hope this works out! I'm sure we have a lot to catch up on.
FYI, if for some reason it doesn't work out there's a discussion about carpooling from Los Angeles to SANDcamp at http://groups.drupal.org/node/274408
Back
I noticed that you might be staying for SANDCAMP at least on Saturday; I would prefer to get back to L.A. on Fri. night if possible (if I can get to San Diego Union Station, I can probably get back there easily). talk to you later...
This works for me. I won't be
This works for me. I won't be staying in San Diego and can provide a ride back up to Los Angeles on Friday night.
At the moment, it looks like
At the moment, it looks like I'll be going down (& maybe coming back w/ Stew-bee); I'll see you down there & we can coordinate possible 'ride back' later -- I'll have more solid information then, & it's seeming like you might have problems of 'enough seats in the car'.
Typo on SANDcamp training page...
Hi guys, Paid training is being held at camp on Friday and Saturday, as well as one session on Thursday. The text at the top of the page was in a view header that we missed when updating the site for 2013 (unlucky 13 I guess!). All of the actual training pages and registrations pages were and are correct. I have updated the view header text with the correct details. Thanks for pointing it out to us! See you at camp. Thanks, Doug! Would it be possible update the page at https://www.sandcamp.org/pre-camp-training2 to include the date and time for each class?
Doug, I noticed that this
Doug, I noticed that this class and my proposed session on Frontend Performance are currently scheduled at the same time:
https://sandcamp.org/schedule
Can the performance session be move to either before or after the class? (I'm not sure if I'm making it down to SANDCamp on Saturday.)
Ride to SANDCAMP
I just registered for the Drupal PAYDAY class at SANDCAMP 01/25/2013. I'd like to get a ride from you on Fri. down there if possible. I can meet you at Droplabs at whatever time works best for you -- name the time & I'll be there then, or better yet contact me by email. I probably won't be down at Droplabs this coming week because of crowded schedule.
Thanks,
Jeff
Ride share
Hey Jeff,
There's a discussion for ride / hotel shares to SANDcamp for people leaving from LA, here:
http://groups.drupal.org/node/274408
There's also a comment from someone with potentially the same time requirements as what you're seeking, here:

It looks like a small group
It looks like a small group of us are carpooling from Droplabs in the morning. I'll post an update when I know more.

Last minute
It's understandable that people who've already signed up for this workshop and are registered should receive priority but if there's still room left over, would it be ok to walk-in?
Since I'm still trying to make arrangements to attend sand camp, it isn't certain that I'll be able to make it. In case I miss out on this one, do you plan to offer this again sometime?
Sorry we missed you
Sorry we missed you yesterday. Yes, we'll be offering this class again as soon as we get some feedback on yesterday's class and update our curriculum.
Walk-ins are always welcome when we have enough room for everyone at our training venue. Whenever space is sold out, we make an effort to let everyone know.
Thanks to all the attendees
Thanks to all the attendees of our Payday class yesterday! We just sent out the surveys and look forward to hearing how we’re doing.
We'll also be offering this class again as soon as we get some feedback and update our curriculum (a new version of Commerce was just released yesterday!).
