Moving to Open Publish

I work for a mid-sized UK publisher wanting to move from a proprietary CMS to OpenPublish. I am looking for a company - ideally in the UK - that can help us plan and execute this transition. All suggestions welcome.

PKP Open Journal System and Drupal OpenPublish!

Hello JonR,

I suggest you to use Open Journal System as primary/production site and OpenPublish as a secondary site for marketing. I can suggest you these two host companies: http://www.arvixe.com/Open_Journal_Systems_hosting and http://www.2020media.com/content/view/228/96/.

Look at this paragraph to know about other options: “OJS is a great platform, but it isn’t the only solution out there. Have you investigated other options? There are a few resources that may help on this guide: http://libguides.asu.edu/content.php?pid=164274&sid=2079463.”

The best option to develop OpenPublish is to start with the installation of a TB Theme (http://www.themebrain.com/?utm_campaign=joomlart_JDcontent&utm_medium=ma...). You only creates a database and install the template. You will have a fully beautiful running site. Then you add the other modules that OpenPublish requires.

Thanks. I will look into OpenJournal.

Hi JonR. I believe the Phase2

Hi JonR.

I believe the Phase2 Technology is the best company to provide support for OpenPublish. Also, much of OP is pure Drupal development tailored for e-publishing projects, so you can take a search for Drupal companies in UK.

There's also a group for people from United Kingdom (http://groups.drupal.org/united-kingdom), where you can find Drupal developers near to you.

Wundercraut is the largest Europe's Drupal service provider, so if you need a big company to help you on it I believe they are a good option. On Drupal.org (http://drupal.org/drupal-services/featured/all/all/United-Kingdom) you'll find other companies based in UK, and if you need a freelancer you can contact me. :)

Thanks for those replies. I have swapped emails with Phase2 but: (a) dealing with a UK-based politer could be easier, and (b) so far they've been rubbish at responding to my emails.

I will follow up the UK Drupal links.

Hi Jonr,

I am the Drupal Director at CTI Digital in Manchester. We also have offices in London.

We have delivered publishing solutions for several organisations in the UK including http://www.thedrum.com one of the largest publishers in the digital industry.

We've also worked with Channel 4, The BBC and Sky on various projects.

If you are still seeking a suitable UK based specilaist Drupal team, I'd be more than pleased to have a discussion.
