Hack for Western Mass (http://hackforwesternmass.org/) is coming up again: June 6-8 in Springfield (venue TBD).
Like last year, we're one of over 100 events happening across the country for the National Day of Civic Hacking. During the weekend technologists, designers, data nerds, and other creative types will team up with area nonprofits to work on technical challenges. 100 hackers worked with 9 non-profits on everything from a mobile food bank finder to a Scratch app that models how fish are helped over dams at the Holyoke Fishway.
This year, we are organizing by locality. As project manager for Greenfield, I am following this plan to recruit team members and nonprofits: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1H12BMPb1Ak3JkxG9AuOGShi2RvORMKvD...
If you would like to work on the Greenfield area team as a coder or other IT / Creative person, and/or you know a local nonprofit with an IT related problem that needs fixing, please join our first meeting at Greenfield Coffee. We're using Doodle to pick a good day and time in the next two weeks: http://doodle.com/au438zgn3u9eg4z6
Or if you would like to participate as a project manager, organizer, or team member in another Western Mass locality, reach out: bram@techscoutsma.org.
Thank you!
