I am going to be making Drupal.se a Mashup of social sites for Drupal enthusiasts, developers in Sweden. The idea is to give each user a profile page where they can embed widgets and API connections from social sites like LinkedIn, Facebook where groups exist. Blog sites that have widgets or APIs will also be included. This will give a common place for Drupal social networking in Sweden and further promote Drupal in Sweden by showing activities surrounding it. To get an idea of what I am talking about look at the first page of Drupal.se now. The idea is to have an advanced (and better IA'd ) version of a page like this. These pages will be for your personal/individual activities surrounding Drupal.
Right now I am looking for 5 to 10 users that are already members of these social sites and participate in the groups to be the Alpha group under the build up.

This sounds like an
This sounds like an interesting idea. Promoting the users and developers of Drupal Sweden is as important as promoting Drupal and the work being done in "the scene". The drupal.se domain, being a registered trademark and all, is a perfect congregation for this. Good initiative.
What I am curious about is how the rest of the site will be presented. Is this a community driven and owned project? Will I be able to present my drupal shop? How can I contribute to the project? Basically - how will it all be wrapped?

There needs to be a solution
There needs to be a solution to the commercial aspects surrounding the use of Drupal.se. To be honest this is an issue I am trying to avoid because it might involve lots of extra legal activity. I would like the use of the domain name to be a natural fit to the present description of the use of the trademark. This also means that there has to be lots of direct community input and activity.
Ownership is also something that is sensitive which is why I have chosen to leave the social networking part up to a mash-up, thus avoiding the need for ownership of already copyrighted content.
Just off the top of my head I am thinking that those that have shops, businesses or are part of publicly facing projects will be able to present their affairs in the form of write ups, tutorials and articles. So you will not be able to just say that you are involved, "the best" or propagandize but you can show your standing by presenting content that pertains to the community on the whole. This is probably the best way to present a company. My reasons for possibly doing things this way is to force a little more cooperation from commercial entities and to remove some of the secrecy involved in the use of Drupal as a commercial tool box. Maybe some of the companies and their clients will open up their open source community purse strings and let their employees present materials and resources in exchange for a little noteriety on the website.
