Problem: no "add photo" link shows up in Gallery node

I'm trying to build the photo gallery that Jeff Eaton created in his video "Photo galleries with Views Attach". For some reason, I can't seem to get the "add photo" link to show up when using Node Reference URL.

Is any one familiar enough with this to tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Once I log out as admin, annoymous users cannot see the "Add Contest" link on my website's main menu.
Does Drupal hides menu items that links to (Add [Node]) for annoymous users???! I need everyone (no registration required) to be able to add content to my website (yes I will use spam protection).
Please any help!
