Greetings! I am a former newspaper lackey who is currently tasked with fleshing out the integration of DTP apps in our company (I work for a non-profit telco co-op) with our online presence both externally through our company website and internally on our intranet. Both of these environments are powered by Drupal exclusively.
I am looking for input and insight regarding the integration of apps such as Indesign, Illustrator and Quark with Drupal. Specifically, I would like to be able to take our current subscriber newsletter which is designed in Indesign and export it as a single XML file, which can then be pushed to Drupal and published as nodes. Each piece of content would be exported from Indesign tagged as a content type, structured with CCK field names and be ready to import.
Additionally, the ability to go the other direction would be good as well. Type the content into Drupal as a contributor within the company, push it through the workflow process and have an xml file exported and ready to drop into Indesign with correct tagging for proper pagination.
Your thoughts?

We've had some discussion(s), but they tend to dissolve as people have to focus on their day-to-day tasks.
For Tearsheet, at least, I went ahead and applied for Knight Foundation money to try to solve the Export problem.
