Why two college newspapers dumped their proprietary Web systems

From the Chronicle of Higher Education comes this tale: "For College Newspapers, Prepackaged Online Versions Are Yesterday's News." The Daily Texan at the University of Texas switched from a proprietary system to Drupal, and the Maneater at the University of Missouri switched to Django.
