DrupalCamp Boone Session Proposals open!
Hey all! Session proposals are now open for DrupalCamp Boone! Bear in mind these are different than session "suggestions," which are also still open. In essence, a suggestion is something you'd like to see SOMEONE ELSE present, whereas a proposals is something YOU ARE OFFERING to present.
Head on over to http://drupalcampboone.com - get registered for this free event and propose away!

I just want to put this out there to all of you and ask for your support. I think we should push for the Triangle to be the host for 2012 DrupalCon. I've posted a comment on the following thread and I think we should get as many people as possible to comment there in support of it, but also take the survey linked to in that discussion and write in Raleigh, NC as an alternative city. Lets get our city some Drupal love.

Classic Graphics will be hosting the first ever Drupal LunchCamp at Northlake Mall in North Charlotte on July 29. We try to sit close to Borders, in the middle of the table area. We're usually the only group to ram together 4 tables. Come give us a reason to ram 4-5 tables together. If enough people come, we'll move it down to the downstairs gathering area by Starbucks.

The mall has free wireless provided by both Road Runner and AT&T.

I've asked for help on drupal.org, none received. So, reaching out to my North Cack peeps.
I have a site (church site). A member (pastor) has a blog. I want to feature the blog.
Attempt 1: Using core module Aggregator, publish box that has blog title and recent posts. This works, kinda. I get the titles of individual entries, but the url is the same for each one.

Read moreIs there a Drupal equivalent of Google Groups and Docs?
Google groups, with Google docs, provides really good collaboration tools.
The last version of OG I used didn't allow you to reply to email -- you HAVE to go to the web page to reply. Is there a set of Drupal modules that provides the functions of Google groups?
And what about Google docs? It's so easy to share documents and spread sheets.

Spurred on by the generous atmosphere of help (and the coolness of Drupal) I have published my ("first?") Drupal site, for the film I recently finished. I dove into Drupal to promote the film with a quality web site and - maybe I'm too easy to please - I'm pretty happy with the result: http://www.eightlessons.com.
I welcome all comments on the site, suggestions, etc. And everyone in the Triangle is invited to the first public screening on July 11th (details on the site).
Read moreSimple menu question
I think this is simple anyways...
Let's say my primary menu has parent of 'Apple' with child menu items (pages) of Sour, Green, Red, and Bad.
Well, I've decided to make an actual page for 'Apple' and I want it to display Sour, Green, Red, Bad as menu options, but outside of the primary menu.
Example:
Main menu: Beets - Bears - Battlestar - Oranges - Pears - Apples - etc
Content of page:
Menu:Sour - Green - Red - Bad
photo gallery
blog
etc etc
Enabling a manual sort order on nodes + CCK
D6: I wish to enable a manual, visual sorting of nodes. I know I can create a CCK integer field so I can manually enter a number, but that seems too convoluted. Any suggestions?
Read moreHow? Generate PDF and email to two addresses
Semi-newbie problem: I need to generate a PDF file (a diploma like thing) with the user's name, email it to them and send an email to admin after user completes a test (quiz module). Drupal 6 only. I would appreciate any suggestions, pointers, etc.

First Asheville DUG
The first Asheville DUG meetup is going to take place at the end of this month!
It will be a fairly straight forward meeting to meet the developers/designers/professionals who use drupal in the asheville area.
The meetup will be hosted by TopFloorStudios.
The schedule is 10-15 minutes of meet & greet, 30-40 minute presentation, then q&a / networking at the end.
I will do the first presentation on rapid Drupal sitebuilding & distribution using the features, drush, drush_make modules.

Hi Guys,
I'm going to be representing Drupal on a CMS comparison panel in Asheville next week, for the WNC Web Tech Meetup. Here is a link to details:
http://www.meetup.com/wncwebtech/calendar/13473718/i/fd_edit_rsvp_multi_tl
If there are any Drupal folks in the area, come along and represent the community! I'm also going to try to get a feel for if there is enough interest in the area to start up an Asheville DUG.
I also might have some Drupal Gardens beta code cards to hand out - haven't gotten them in the mail yet, hoping they come in time.
Read moreJob postings here and consideration for the job candidates
I hope I'm not out-of-turn by posting the following sentiment. After having responded to a few solicitations for resumes or contracts here and not having received a single response, I would strongly encourage the companies making these solicitations to consider the time spent by candidates and the courtesy of a response, outside of the pro-forma "we got your submission" kind of boilerplate.
I expect that kind of flippancy from craigslist, not the Drupal community.
