The Classic Graphics IT and Drupal teams will be having lunch at Northlake Mall today. We try to sit close to Borders, in the middle of the table area. We'll we're usually the only group to ram together 4-5 tables.

Thanks much, all, for your input on web hosts you like. I have one more bleg: site uptime services you like. This is a surprisingly expensive service and I'd be curious about positive experiences you have had.
I am using Site Uptime's one free account, which is great, but their first level of paid service $5/month 3 sites or $60 a year seems steep to me.
Thanks again!
Read moreHosting recommendation
I'm painfully aware that this type of question begs for an avalanche of responses of dubious origin. Yet, I must ask anyhow.
Would any TriDUG members care to offer web hosting vendors with whom they are satisfied? I know Rackspace, for example, has an excellent reputation, as well as a premium price tag. I'm thinking more in the $20 - $50 range for LAMP-based hosting (with extra credit for .NET/IIS platform support as well) That range is roughly a premium shared to an economy class VPS, which I'm thinking is about right.
Thanks in advance!
Read moreUsing a form to update data
I'm in my first attempt at building a custom module and I've run into a problem I can't seem to find an answer for. It's a task I've done a millions times using various scripting languages, but despite hours pouring over the Forms API and other resources, I cannot figure out how I'm supposed to do this. And I'm sure someone is going to point to some simple thing I'm missing here....

Read morebasic question about directory usage
I'm at the beginning of a long learning curve on Drupal, with this question today.
My site will use a variety of photos and graphics. Is there any standard practice for where to locate these items? I'm assuming that creating a directory or two under /sites/all would be logical. That would give me
/sites/all
/modules
/themes
/photos
/graphics
/videos ....etc.

We are also seeking sponsors for the event. We have three sponsorship breakdowns at $1000 / $500 / $250. We are tight on time as we are only 2 weeks out, but the need is small! We only need one of each to meet the needs of the camp. If you can help, please get in contact with us by visiting http://drupalcampnashville.com/contact .

March ADUG Meetup - Site Building w/Open Publish (Part 2)
For our March program, Jeff Walpole and Frank Febbraro, co-founders of Washington, DC-based Phase2 Technology, will join ADUG to continue our discussion of OpenPublish (OP).

So, not sure really what happened, but all fo the sudden files in the sites/default/files folder are not accessible. I was updating a module when all hell broke loose. I pinned it to the css file stored in default/files was not being read. I then realized that NO file in that folder was readable.
Permissions are 755 for default and 755 for files.

Dumb question about mysql + getting drupal running
Installing drupal (6.x), linked to new DB, then a variety of stupid problems after which I deleted the DB to start over. Edited settings.php to reflect new DB name and login. Drupal doesn't come up . . .
1) should it, if I correctly edited settings.php? or do I need to change other files as well?
2) or - is deleting the DB an hour after I started a no-no and other recovery or re-install tactics are necessary.
Thanks for any and all help! - Jim

Anyone use Messaging and Notifications successfully?
So, I've given myself (and spared you) three days to try and get this to work. Didn't happen.
I created a Custom Subscription (Node Type: Announcement) and cannot get it to send email OR queue. I can subscribe to content types, like Page, Story, etc. I have a custom content type, Announcement, that I want people to be able to subscribe to. Any ideas of why this isn't working or what I can do to troubleshoot?
Like I said, I've spent three days reading threads, tinkering, checking this and unchecking that, nada. Oh, and this framework doesn't provide much in the way of log entries :\
Read moreSomething I learned today
While theming and developing today I switched from Firefox to Internet Explorer and found that my site had no styles! Ahhh! To save you from possible headaches, here's my finding: IE limits Drupal to 31 stylesheets total. The work-around for the bug is to enable CSS aggregation.
Many modules have their own stylesheets, so when you get to a certain number of modules, plus have your own custom theme, you reach a point like I did today where you pass the threshold. Hope this helps someone!!

I was curious if anyone from NC / SC / East coast was interested or heading out to Drupal Camp Austin? It's only $40 to attend 2 days next weekend, but the trip is about 19 hours for us.
Would anyone be interested in saving some money and car pooling down and back? I would love to go but don't have a reliable vehicle to make the trip. I live in Asheville, NC.

Hello all, my name is Ryan and I'm visiting your fair state from Orlando - I help run the Florida Drupal Group and my friends Mike, Andrew and I host the DrupalEasy Podcast.
I'm in town for a training gig, and I was wondering a few things:
- What is a good (local) place to get some food / microbrews / conversation? Must be local.
- Does anyone want to come with me?
Charlotte Resources?
Hello North Carolina!
I'm just getting into drupal development and I haven't found much in the way of local resources or meetups in my area (Charlotte NC).
Do I need to drive 2.5 hours to the triDUG users group in Cary to get myself started? They seem to be the most active group.
Would appreciate any leads you all might have. Also looking for training in NC or the South East, if you have suggestions. Thanks!
