Backend Talent Needed ASAP
Hi Oly/Seattle and Chicago Drupal folks. I am posting this in the hopes that someone local has a bit of time and the skill to assist us.
We have a project for a major NFL fan site that has a very tight timeline and we could really use another pair of hands on the backend API integration pieces.
We have a lead developer and would very much like to add another to supplement and meet the deadline of July 24.
Please email cmcgrath@celebratedrupal.com to discuss rate and availability. Thanks!

Hello Drupal Oly folks! We are getting really busy and wondered if there were any junior resources out there, that know CSS (maybe some SASS) and basic Drupal site building and had some time to offer this summer. From there who knows it could grow into more we are a growing organization.
We are a virtual workplace but could meet regularly and or have you work from our location a few days.
Pay would be based on experience and the job would be a contract role. Please email your resume and or get in touch with bmcgrath@celebratedrupal.com

Hi Oly Drupalites. Hope all that were fortunate enough to attend had a great Drupal Con Los Angeles! I wanted to get a discussion going for the May meeting. I (Chris) will not be able to attend as I will be in Chicago. However Beth will be there and we just wanted to see what everyone thought would be the most valuable topics to discuss?
I know Intro to Drupal was discussed,
Security
Enterprise Management
What sounds good?

Vanessa Schuler from St. Martin's University will give a presentation on basics of Drupal.
Folks who attended DrupalCon in Los Angeles can share a little bit about what they learned.
Then we'll decide on some topics of interest for future get-togethers.
Read moreDifficulty Finding Folks with Drupal Experience
I'm just curious if anybody has any observations to share regarding difficulty in finding people with Drupal experience. We've had a position that's been hard to fill (still open) even looking for more generic web developer candidates. This might just be a sign of the state falling behind the salary curve but I'm thinking that adding Drupal specific requirements might just make that worse.
As an aside, we may have an opportunity for a full or part-time project position for someone with Drupal site building experience if any of you know of someone in the Olympia area that might be interested.

Hi Everyone, Beth and I wanted to follow up to James' very nice post to the CIO list. The Attorney General here in WA has just launched a new Drupal site and it is being chatted about on the State webmaster listserv. We would like to promote the March User Group meeting.
Did we want to keep our 3pm Friday time? Or does the group feel a PM time is better?
I think we agree that we wanted to keep it to a place that we had a projector such as Evergreen but if that is out of the way for others please speak up.
Group Announcement to the WA State CIO's List
Following up on the group meeting, I posted the following to the Wa State CIO's list.

The Olympia area Drupal Users Group is trying to build a critical mass to sustain regular meetings in the Olympia area. For those not familiar with Drupal, “Drupal is a free software package that allows you to easily organize, manage and publish your content, with an endless variety of customization.” Drupal is seeing rapid growth in the government sector including use here in Washington State.

Hi Seattle just wondering if there are any Drupal devs with some years 3-5+ experience seeking contract work. I have been getting a few inquiries about 3-6-12 month gigs just North of the city, in Bothell and wondered if anyone was available. Please contact me if so. Thanks
