My name is Claudio, I am a Web Design student and am designing a website for a school as for my thesis project ( I haven't started yet). I am very new to Drupal as to webdesign and I wondered if anyone can help me choose the right modules as this is my first time.

So, the website will serve as a tool to rise funding as it is a charity School so it will take Donations
on top of being a standard school website.

With DrupalCon Denver coming up in approximately 4 months, I wanted to see if there was interest in an Education-specific unconference on Monday, the 19th, the day before DrupalCon begins.

OpenAcadept is a Drupal distribution for building academic websites. It can help academic departments to have own site. The functionality of OpenAcaDept is based on what we need in Donetsk National Technical University and will be extended due to user requests. OpenAcaDept is in active development now, but you can start to build your own project based on it, while helping us to fix issues. It is very important to have a feedback from you re this project, because it will help improve it.

OpenAcaDept features:

• Basic content types such as Project, Event, Publication, Resource, Blog post, Page.
• Configurable user profiles for different roles: Faculty/staff, Student, Alumnus.
• Views for pages and contextual blocks.
• Smart node access workflow and role application on registration.
• Installed menu items, taxonomy terms and pages.
• Custom theme.

Session submissions are open for DrupalCon Denver and we’re excited to have an entire track devoted to the Nonprofit, Government & Education sectors. We have some great featured speakers confirmed. We’re also seeing a growing number of sessions being proposed -- but we need a lot more!

In the Winter Semester (begins in January of 2012 through early May) I will be teaching a 15-week course at GVSU called Advanced Writing for the World Wide Web. (WRT 380-6). It is a course designed for writing majors and minors, but it is also popular with students in advertising, computer science, journalism, business, and other areas).

The course will meet once a week on Wednesday nights from 6:00-8:50 on the Allendale campus in one of the computer labs.

Hello all,

The Startup Weekend franchise has branched out into the education technology space and created "Startup Weekend Education". These are rapid 54-hour events - concept on Friday night and pitch the demo on Sunday night. There is a good mix of enthusiastic folks to team up with - teachers, biz devs, marketing and designers (plus loads of fellow techs).

Please forgive this but my brain hurts.

I am an intermediate level IT person. I have coding experience, but my main focus has been on UI and Accessibility issues since I stop full-time coding with VB 6 & ASP technologies. I am no stranger to user groups and discussion boards, but I will confess to a lack of patience with them. Which brings me to my suggestion/rant:

Today sees the launch of the new http://bad-ass.org.uk site, with tickets now available for our Drupal Discovery Day in Brighton on 16th September, part of the Brighton Digital Festival.
