location

Hi,

I have a real estate website on drupal 6 using the Location module to collect the postcode, and use the UK database to store the lat/long to the node, and that works pretty well.

However I have had a couple of issues, which are that I am finding it difficult to make changes to the form that collects the Location on the new node form, and secondly I have a database of full postcodes (eg XX1 YY2) rather than the just the postal areas (eg XX1) given by the default Location postcode databases for the UK which I would like to make use of.

I am having difficult time displaying my cck fild in the map I create in views they are all type text. Can anyone help please?

So, I've been trying to use views with CCK, Location, and GMap for a few days now. I can get everything working fine, but there is one problem that I can't figure out. I made a GMap styled node view and everything comes up fine except for the popup info. The popups work fine, but the only data that is put into the popup is the label for each field.

I'm trying to setup a functionality where I allow users to post a trip that they will be taking. So I have created a node type for a "trip" and created a location field for the start and another for the destination. Geocoding of these two location fields are working just fine.

CIMBA is a university based in Asolo, Italy that grants MBA's to students from all over the world. Due to the distance between the different student groups, planning, coordinating, and building the alumni network has proved challenging. Our alumni association membership is in the thousands, however the membership groups are spread out between the multitude of social media networks out there, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and (hold your breath) Twitter.

A typical multi-site shared db does something along the lines of this:

DB A - Only Nodes in Site A , Shared Users
DB B - Only Nodes in Site B, Shared Users
DB User - shared with both A & B, contains user tables, sessions, and other tables that are user related, so both sites can access non-node based info.

Now that g.d.o has been upgraded to D6 is there any chance of creating a location based map for all events? Something like the map in http://central.wordcamp.org/ but with some views filtering options would be very cool way of browsing events and quite easy to implement. We are starting to have so many Drupal events every year that it's difficult to keep track on what's going on. Map with filtering by event type and dates would be a huge improvement on usability.

My objective is to create a site that would allow people to rate the environmental factors of their immediate physical space.

Example use:

I have been looking into the location mapper for the feedapi.
My rss feeds are provided by a affiliate-datafeeds to rss converter. This feed includes categories and georss information. I found the following issues:

1. RSS does not have other geo fields except the georss tags
2. The location mapper does not allow mapping other fields then the georss (makes sence after the first issue)
3. When solving 1 and 2 the locatiomodule will still attempt to find ‘better’ coordinates and throw away the provided onces
