Server:Nginx 1.15.0

Composer 1.6.5
Drupal8.5.4はComposerにより配置済み

If I were to change across to MariaDB would my existing MySQL databases work without issue or is there anything I need to consider or watch out for?

Thank you

linux server / dev environments, opensuse and others

I started writing an OpenSUSE tutorial for drupal: http://drupal.org/node/1180202

What I want to do is get feedback and develop a template/checklist to follow to make sure no important information is left out of a server config.

So far I have these categories some of which are not written on the above page yet:

<

ul>

  • Downloading and Installing the software
  • Config file locations
  • Configuring the software
  • Example config files
  • Application locations
  • Checking version numbers
  • Log file locations

    MySQL Alternative MariaDB

    http://drupal.org/requirements#database
    von MariaDB gelesen ( http://mariadb.org/ ).

"MariaDB is a binary drop in replacement for MySQL. [...] This means that for most cases, you can just uninstall MySQL and install MariaDB and you are good to go. (No need to convert any datafiles if you use same main version, like 5.1)."
    http://kb.askmonty.org/v/mariadb-versus-mysql

    Change default DB to MariaDB

After reading this issue (http://drupal.org/node/861192) today I wondered what the Pantheon community though about moving the default DB to MariaDB? I haven't played with it at all but the benchmarks look really good and assuming it's stable enough, I don't see any reason not to make the switch.
