"Ultra Light" User Experience / User Interface Design & Drupal for Startups
I run a group of tech entrepreneurs called Ultra Light Startups (http://ultralightstartups.com/) and I'm interested in the use of Drupal in startups for several reasons. Many of our members' startups are either already built on Drupal or they are evaluating use of Drupal for a project. Several of our members are also active in the NYC Drupal community. Also, after hosting an event on Open Source CMS's last fall, I became convinced that Drupal was the right platform for several of my own projects, including a planned major upgrade to the Ultra Light Startups site.

I recently posted over here http://drupal.org/node/337797, about a different approach to themeing in Drupal. I wanted to get the opinion of this group, because it is comprised of everybody that would potential be using this concept.
I vote for really hammering out all the ideas, before beginning and not rushing this if you think this is a good idea, or at least the beginning of a good idea. So long story short, I'm thinking Drupal 8.

Hello,
Thanks for the og_panels screencast.
While watching and then implementing og_panels on localhost I noticed that after I create the default home page with the page name "Home", the tab appears as "View". Similarly if I change the discussion page to the default page, the tab turns to "View". I saw this on the screencast too.
Just wondering how to overcome this.
Thanx,

proposal for CCK UI
CCK as a module has a lot of functionalites and this makes the UI difficult to grasp for new users even if developers made a lot to improve it. Since we’re going to put CCK fields in core maybe we need a cleaner interface .
So I did a mockup for a two steps content type creation form that not only try to make the UI simpler but even introduce new concepts and I hope opportunities. Please note that this is just a mockup I don’t have any working code and probably I wouldn’t be able to code anything. This would hopefully be just a start for a discussion.

Read moreA glimpse of Firefox 3 UI
Not exactly related to Drupal, but this is a quite interesting article about Firefox 3.
The article is about design, UI, usability of course, but also about how they affect the perception of the brand. It's nice to read about the reasoning behind the forthcoming changes, and could be an inspiration to us when we think about possible changes in Drupal's UI.
Read moreViews UI mockups
Hi. I'd like to document some links to Views2 UI mockups here. Links to the files have been bouncing around in IRC, maybe this can be a place for further thoughts on how Views2 could best present it's functionality to the user. I'll be updating any new screens here.
These all concern the “create new view” part of the UI, looking for ways to present all the available settings in a more compact layout.

Garrett Dimon discusses his issue tracking design
Garrett Dimon is writing a series of posts on the design of his issue tracking system. The design if for smaller projects than Drupal, but it may provide some inspiration.
