Rules Roles and Flags
I am SO close it hurts. I have a flag on my node/#submission/#/edit page that only admin can access. I need to assign a role to the user who created the submission when the admin clicks the "approved" flag. I get all the way to "User whos roles should be changed" and the only user option is the flagging user. Does anyone know how to get the submitting user in this drop down box, so that the person who submitted the form's roles might be changed on approval?
Thanks!

Hi all,
I'm trying to use this great module with Organic groups, which leaves me with the following question.
Is it possible to assign a role to a groupadmin that will only function in the context of that group?
Lets say a groupadmin receives a role after creation of a groupnode of a certain type.
Then he decides he wants to become a member of another groupnode of the same type he just became groupadmin of.
Now his groupadmin role of his own group shouldn't function. Instead he should receive a member role.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks
Read moreUser Relationship Rules / Or Role Dependent
Hello,
Is there a way to (relatively easy) make a user relationship based on the role a user has? For example users which have role A can become friends with everyone who is role A but not with role B. Simple question but hard to find any answers.
Thanks so much!

I'm looking at the DOM site and I see about 20 different roles. Some are obvious, like "intern". What's "cc override"? Is that creative commons override? What about "site monitor"?
I'm also noticing that you only have two roles for certifications: "field certification" and "studio certification". I'm guessing this is because at DOM you only have those two major types of certification. At channelAustin we have quite a few more than that.
I'm wondering what other sites have done with roles. How many and which ones being set up at BAVC?

Better Access Controls for Views
I have the need for a site where I can define access to individual nodes by user. In this scenario, access by permission or roles is not finite enough. Node_Access has this ability. But when I want to create a view to display the node available to a given user, View's Access setting overrides the permission and roles settings in Node_Access. There is a similar module, Content Access that tries to solve a similar problem.

I have a web site where we'll be adding a blog. This blog will allow for comments, but only after each member account has been internally reviewed. To support this, will have several roles:
"Blogger" has all CRUD permissions for the blog
"Commenter" can create and edit comments to each blog
"Authenticated" a non-anonymous account but lacks any editing capabilities
"Anonymous" can read the blog and comments but no edit capabilities
role expiry triggering content deletion

Hi there,
I have my first Drupal site up and just polishing up some of the UX / Business rules elements of the site.
I need to be able to assign users to ttwo different roles based on their user:location_country attribute.
If they are from US/Canada - they go to one role, otherwise they go to another role.
I know i have to execute some PHP when the User is created, but i am not sure of the syntax or how to set it up.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Kit

I'm working on building out user badges as a major feature on a news site, where users can submit or vote on various amounts of various types of content to get X or Y badge, some of which give the users new permissions and some of which are merely decoration.
Read morecreate trigger for rules to publish when user is added to group
Hi there,
I'm trying to do something that i thought would be fairly easy using rules, which is:
- publish a users content when user has role 'paid_member'. I cant use any on the existing triggers (such as 'on save new content) as they rely on the user clicking on the page to make the publishing process happen. To go with this i would need to create user driver triggers such as 'when saving new content' and role = 'paid member' then publish otherwise any new content they create wont get published.
