My List of Drupal Modules

Hey everyone, I just created a blog post highlighting all of the modules used on my personal website. I'd be interested in hearing some feedback on what everyone else uses. I think this is valuable to beginners and there were quite a few related questions at the last meetup.

Here's my list: http://tylorsherman.com/node/684

Modules for Social Networks

Hi!
I'm going to create a Social Network based on Drupal. It's my first time that I use Drupal and I'm impressed with the high quantity of modules. There are a lot of modules for each subject (i.e. image gallery, blog, etc). Now I've got a problem because I don't know which are the most useful modules to build a Social Network.

Could you tell me which are the indispensable modules to create a Social Network with Drupal? or which is the best module in a concrete subject?

Thanks in advance.

Drupal Code Search: A new search tool for developers

I'd like to introduce you to an experimental project of mine called Drupal Code Search.

Drupal Code Search lets you search source code from thousands of Drupal modules and themes, use regular expressions, filter results by version, and more.

The goal of this project is to help themers and module developers find code examples faster and easier than before. Results are retrieved using the Code Search Data API.

Our 2c on SEO...

I work on a cruise information site built in Drupal 5. In addition to a handy guide explaining the essentials of a 1st cruise, we lets users browse and share cruise ship pictures and cruise stories. We've given some thought to SEO, so I thought I'd share a few things we've learned....

New Drupal Modules Site

Not sure if this has been widely publicized yet, but the new drupal modules site is operational. Hopefully this will develop into a meaningful way to evaluate the quality and adoption of contributed modules. It is outside of drupal.org, though, so maybe it will not really reflect actual drupal use.

The module finder is way cool, though. check it out!

New Community-Powered Drupal Module Review Site

Drupal Modules is a community-powered Drupal module review system I've been working on for about a year now. I'm happy to announce the site is finally open to the public!

Here's a brief list of what you can do on the site:

  • Rate and review any module
  • Compare modules to see which has the best features, documentation, etc
  • Check how many downloads a module is getting
  • Easily search modules and reviews for keywords
  • Get automatic recommendations for similar modules
  • And more!

Idea: "Trust" module

I'm building/have built a social networking site, and coming across Twine made me realize that it would be nice to build some kind of "Trust" module, where users could specify what level of trust they attribute to others, and this trust level would affect how content shows up and is organized.

Trust Levels

Specifically, I'm thinking of 5 levels of trust:
* Always Hide - Essentially equivalent to "block user," this would make it so the blocker doesn't see any content from the blocked user

Existing Domains and Multiple Site Module Control

I'm excited to begin working with this module. It has been quite the task to enable a module or change a permissions setting across 40 sites, having to log into each one or via update.php.

So my question is, how would this integrate into a collection of 30 - 40 established sites in a multisite configuration?
Is this something that needs to be implemented from stage 1?

I read the description of what the HM2 does but am still a little unclear how it handles modules.
Can I enable/disable modules via HM2?
Can I modify access controls across all domains and/or each domain via HM2?

Duplicate efforts?

See this node http://groups.drupal.org/node/7191 titled "Project Quality Metrics" in the Drupal.org redesign plan for the Drupal Association group. It looks like all that activity should either be here, or all the activity intended for this group should be there, i.e. duplicate efforts.
