LSD - Features and Key aspects

I was just thinking through while building large scale application on top of Drupal on dealing with below aspects..

  • Multisite with Multiple countries and languages. (1 site with 4 countries, each country with 4-5 languages)
  • Data import capability for dumping data from external sources via CSV/xls/sql etc
  • 3rd party mash-ups integration (say Amazon, iTunes, Soundcloud etc)
  • SAP system integration
  • End to end CRM application
  • B2B features with -E-commerce support

If we are going to have single Drupal code base and porting all of them on one side, how much Drupal can sustain.

Best Practice: Multi-Webservers (Pressflow), Varnish, memcached, APC, CDN

Hi,

We begun our deployment of a large community website from a single machine that combined DB and web server two years ago. We experienced continuous growth and our system evolved significantly, different performance tunings led to the following setup (so far):

Machine A - httpd
Machine B - httpd
Machine C - httpd + Varnishd (incoming traffic, round robin load balancing between httpd on A, B and C)
Machine D - several memcached instances
Machine E - several memcached instances
Machine F - mysqld + NFS

After hitting a few blocking issues, we shifted our focus to themeing and management of images on the D&E pages.

Lot of sites to manage? Maybe this can help (or you can help with it)

UPDATE Network Manager has been released for 5 6 and 7.
I'm releasing a new module soon and wanted to get some feedback on a screencast that I did. It's a project called the Network Manager (http://drupal.org/project/network_manager) and it helps you manage / maintain your sites all from within one site (given permissions set correctly for mysql user).

Here are links to the screencast (Jing forces it to be in 5 minute segments) --
