Here is the idea. This will be right before the code sprint planned by sanguis ( http://groups.drupal.org/node/139604 ). This would be a good time for general presentations on development setups, Git, creating and submitting patches, and a general overview of how helping in the Drupal community works. Then people can try things out by staying for the code sprint event.
