As part of the effort to make the Drupal 7 release the best ever, we are going to be doing core doc sprints during the month of August. This sprint will be on Tuesday, August 4 from 7 - 9 pm EDT (find your time) in the #drupal-docs IRC channel on the Freenode network.

add1sun has issued her latest challenge, and we're going to take her up on it. Come and join us for a documentation sprint (and DrupalCon reunion of sorts!) at our office in Takoma Park, or via IRC if you can't make it in person. Beer and soda will be provided.

During times of recession and job losses it's always useful to develop a new skill or two. DERI based in the IDA Business park is holding a Drupal Ireland event. This event is taking place on Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th April and the event will run from 10am to 5pm both days. Registration is free. You can sign-up for this event below.

Let's get together and whip up some Doc Love. We'll meet for 3 hours at the DC Public Library to work on Drupal and then, if folks are interested, we can go out for food and drinks after. We have a medium meeting room (A-9) reserved from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sat. November 8. (For directions to the room, see below in the Where? section.)

During the sprint window whoever happens to have a few free moments can stop by #drupal-docs IRC channel (on the Freenode network) and help out with preparing the Getting Involved handbook for launch. There will be someone around during the entire time to answer questions, give direction and help newbies out on work to be done, so if you have a spare 15 minutes, roll on by and be part of the process. Newbies are encouraged!
