Tue, 28 April 2020 was announced as Drupal 9 porting day as some projects will admittedly not be as easy to migrate to Drupal 9.

Gábor Hojtsy (Drupal 8 core product manager and initiative coordinator coordinator) is committing his time to be available in European times to consult on fixing deprecation issues and would love to see you there!

Thanks again to everyone who nominated and voted for the DrupalSouth Steering Committee.

The elected members met for the first time last week and have agreed to take on the following roles:

  • Owen Lansbury (AU): Chair and primary liaison with Linux Australia and the Drupal Association.
  • Nicole Kirsch (NZ): Treasurer and record keeper.
  • Pamela Barone (AU): Event liaison and Code of Conduct officer.
  • Thom Toogood (NZ): Government liaison and Code of Conduct officer.
  • Chris Skene (AU): Corporate liaison and marketing lead.

DrupalSouth Hobart 2019 - Call for session Track Chairs

As part of the planning for DrupalSouth Hobart this year we are putting out a call for people to volunteer as Track Chairs to review session submissions and assist with speakers' preparation.

DrupalSouth will be held in Hobart on November 28th and 29th 2019 on Hotel Grand Chancellor, 1 Davey St, Hobart, Tasmania.

Volunteering as a Track Chair is an essential role that ensures session submissions are reviewed by discipline experts and selected to provide attendees with the best possible conference experience.

DrupalSouth Standing Sub Committee - Draft proposal for feedback

As discussed at DrupalSouth Canberra, a proposal is being put together to form a Standing Sub Committee for DrupalSouth event organisation and other community initiatives that will fall under Linux Australia governance. The goal is to provide more consistency in how Australia and New Zealand Drupal community initiatives and funds are managed rather than relying on ad-hoc volunteers as currently occurs.

This committee will require candidates to self nominate and be voted for by Drupal community members in Australia and New Zealand.
