We're offering a free, application-based program designed to improve the Drupal skills of beginner- to intermediate-level Drupal and PHP developers. Together as a group, we're going to be diving into Drupal's APIs and helper functions, developing custom modules (many of us for the first time), using version control and other Drupal developer best practices, and advancing our Drupal skills to the next level.

The 1st Tuesday of the month is coming up again and soon it will time for the next Downtown Drupal meetup! We're meeting at Sensis Agency in Downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 7-9pm (happy hour at 5pm). Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

At this meetup, we're having our usual news and announcements, as well as raffle prizes, community Q&A, lightning talks (which are short, bite-sized presentations) and featured presentations. That's right, we've been offering unique, high quality events and affordable coworking space and office services for 2 years. Come celebrate with us! Much has happened since we opened to the public in Spring, 2011, and at the start of our party our members will have a brief retrospective and share their favorite moments.

Don't worry, this event isn't a meetup with boring presentations. There will be plenty of food and drinks, as well as a raffle prize drawing and mingling and networking for most of the evening. The party is potluck-style, so bring something to share that you like to eat or drink. Bring something to share to throw on the grill!

We're excited to announce the next Drupal Commerce Meetup, on Tuesday, June 28, 2013, between 6-8pm. This is a new meetup and we meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at a variety of venues.

We're meeting this time at Droplabs, a Drupal-friendly classroom, coworking space and makerspace near Downtown Los Angeles. Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

At this Drupal Commerce meetup, we'll be continuing with the Commerce Module Tuesday videos that we introduced last time, and we'll demo and discuss the various modules covered by the series. We'll also cover recent news and events of interest that are happening in the Drupal Commerce world.

The next High Performance Drupal meetup is on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, between 7-9pm Pacific (10-12pm Eastern). We're meeting at Filter Digital, a digital solutions agency in Culver City. Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.

Our meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and full-length presentations. As always, we'll also have community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions, divine answers from the crowd and give brief, 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks. We'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 9:00pm.
