Twin Cities Ubercart & E-Commerce

Starting this month we will begin to build a Drupal Commerce site from scratch. It will be a D7 site for a band and we need to come up with a name for it. We will need to develop the site for it (home page, about and events and contact) and then create a store to sell various items: cds, downloadable links, t-shirts, etc.

This build will happen over several sessions and we will document what we are doing for future online help for our members.

Greetings everyone!

June is a crazy month because it started on Wednesday -- so being this is the 2nd full week of the month -- Wednesday the 15th, is the 3rd Wednesday & you know what that means? Yes, it's the day for our monthly Twin Cities Drupal Ubercart/E-commerce meeting.

Having just experienced the first Twin Cities Drupalcamp, I'm sure we have lots to share. Come one, come all with your ubercart/ecommerce problems and solutions and we'll try to help everyone through their issues.

There are lots of activities associated with the 2011 TC Drupalcamp that takes place this week and our monthly meeting has been tagged to help with the preparations.

Our meeting will take place as always, the 3rd Wednesday of the month which is
May 18, 2011 -- from 7pm until 9pm.

This month's meeting will be a free-for-all session.

Once again, time has gotten away from me -- as stated at the last meeting, unless you hear otherwise, we meet the 3rd wednesday of every month.

Topic: Share our problems -- if you have a specific task you are trying to complete and need a few eyes to take a look at it -
bring it with you to the meeting.

Hi Everyone!

Having just returned from the Chicago Drupalcon -- getting a meeting notice out was totally forgotten. Always note, we will have our meeting on our regularly scheduled day unless you receive a notice to change that.

As we stated last month, I am going to talk about Drupal 7's Drupal Commerce.

I took the full day preconference course that was offered by Ryan S -- we did actual hands on training and created a little store -- so thought I would demonstrate that tonight.

What you'll see:

• the much leaner modules
• drupal now has entities and nodes
• some of the changes in how it handles what used to be called attributes and options
• a look at the new admin menu
• what has not been done as of this date
• where to find the tarball to download and play

Hi Everyone-- it's Twin Cities Ubercart/Ecommerce User Group meeting time!

Agenda for February 16, 2011 meeting (7pm to 9pm):

1. Introductions
2. Topic: Taxonomy menus (I realize this is near and dear to everyone's heart)

Since Taxonomy menus play a large role in Ubercart - thought we should explore the needs some of us have to configure them differently from the "out of the box" version.
a. Can we do such
b. What are some of the issues we have come across - or, what is it you would like yours to do.
c. Has anyone developed work-arounds for their menus

It's time again for our TC Ubercart Monthly Meeting.

During my last e commerce site, I found more Ubercart modules than I was originally was aware of -- I have tried to use some of these and thought this would be a good opportunity to review all the Ubercart modules that are available.

If you have a specific topic or problem that you would want us to cover - please let us know. Also, if anyone has a topic for upcoming meetings, we would also appreciate your letting us know about that.

Time for another Drupal User Group meeting. Because of the holidays, we will combine the Drupal and Ubercart meetings into one meeting on the 15th. (We will have a meeting on the 22nd for any holiday orphans, format tbd)

This month, Sandy Powell will talk about SEO with Drupal! This promises to be a worthwhile and lively meeting topic, one you won't want to miss. This meeting will be a good one for anyone using Drupal.
