migrating users and content from D6 to D7
Hi all,
I am in the process of developing a site in Drupal 7 to replace a site in Drupal 6 on the same server. We decided to create the new site instead of upgrading the old one for various reasons. I realize there are pitfalls migrating users, nodes, and other data from D6 to D7.
My questions are: has anyone had experience doing this, and what kinds of snags have you encountered? Did you use the migrate V2 module, SQL scripts, drush, or combination of the three?
Any comments, suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Steven

Read morePartnership for incubator design/development team
Hello All,
I'm in the process of forming a group/partnership with a couple of like-minded developers and designers in Toronto. The intent is to build a sort of incubator - I have ideas, you have ideas, we work on them collaboratively to make sure our ideas come to fruition. No clients, no salaries, no hourly rates, no hierarchy, no deadlines - just the opportunity to learn and work on complex designs/developments.
The group is really coming together, we have some very talented individuals that are interested, however we need some Drupal talent!
ABOUT ME
Read moremultiple registrations at checkout
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to configure ubercart products/cart/checkout so that a user can purchase a conference registration, then add other people to it during checkout, including each person's info. The result being that there is one purchaser of registrations for many people. This avoids having to purchase each registration separately and/or relying on Quantity in the cart. It is important to gather each person's info.
We are using Drupal 6.22. If anyone has done something like this please let me know.
Thanks,
Steven

Question re: Drupal integration with Spa Account Management software
We will be doing some work on a spa website and would like to use Drupal. The website will require an online booking component and I have two questions:
1. Does anyone have a recommendation for a module that would accommodate online bookings?
2. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions of where to look to find out if Drupal can integrate with Milano Software's "Spa Account Management" (SAM) software? I called Milano, without success...
Thanks!

We'll be having a codesprint on this Saturday. The goal of this codesprint is to prioritise the backlog (so that we know what we're doing). Chris aka motionblur has organised the space for us.
We'll get there for 10AM, I need to run around noon but I'm hoping that some of you will be able to stick around afterwards.
Read moreDate change for monthly meetups
At last night's monthly meetup, we discussed changing the date of future meetups.
The primary reasoning behind the change is an overlap with another, larger Toronto developer event happening on the last Monday of each month.
Some suggestions included:
1. Last Tuesday of each month
2. Third Tuesday of each month
3. Third Monday of each month
4. Continue with current schedule (last Monday of each month)
There was a concern about scheduling repeating events based on the "last" parameter, but iCal (at least on OSX Lion) supports this feature.

Hello everyone,
Montreal's local Drupal Association is planning to run a 3 day Accessibility code sprint in June. Everett Zufelt of and Mike Gifford have both expressed an interest in helping to lead the sprint. We're currently looking at June 15-17 as our dates. A facility has not yet been booked, but Montreal's Notman House has been suggested. It was used successfully for our i18n sprint back in September. We're holding the sprint from June 15th to 17th at the offices of Evolving Web, 114-300 rue du Saint-Sacrement
Monteal.

Read moreSelect query for Users/Profiles on single rows
Hi,
I'm trying to write an SQL query on a D6 database to return users and their profile values. My problem is getting profile values to return as separate fields (columns) in the resulting rows. Profile data is only saved in the values field in the profile_values table, as children, identified by fid.
I've tried Group_Concat but it is not a solution. Profile csv module is not sufficient either. I'd like to have an output like this:
User | Firstname | Lastname | Address | City | State | Zip | etc |
If anyone has done this as a query, please let me know.
Thanks,
Thermal

Hi Everyone,
At the last meetup I did a presentation on Responsive Design using a (very) beta version of a site my team's been working on. Well I'm proud to say we're finally launched it!
Check out http://responsivedesign.ca
We're hoping that there's "non-developer friendly" content there that you can use to help convince clients or boss-types to jump in on responsive design. We've also got a section of resources for developers with links to various (and rapidly changing) techniques and challenges related to responsive web design.
