Everyone is talking about Drupal 8, the latest version of Drupal released in November. For this Global Training Day, we’re going to do a Beginning Drupal 8 Workshop. We’ll be using OSTraining’s excellent new video series, watching as a group (to keep our bandwidth manageable), then working individually to do the exercises. We’ll have experienced WebNY developers available to help answer questions.

Good afternoon,
I don't know about the rest of you, but time goes by terribly quickly sometimes. So here's an attempt to plan out some future local gatherings. I'm writing this in the hopes of soliciting your thoughts, suggestions, etc. in the comments.
This coming Tuesday is our next meetup, as you can see below I was thinking of meeting for a coffee - perhaps at the Western Ave Starbucks near UAlbany? (it has parking and more tables) Other venue recommendations for Tuesday or future coffee meetings welcome.

Backdrop is very similar to Drupal 7 in terms of code while providing many of the features of Drupal 8. However, Backdrop has a different project philosophy from Drupal, in that it values backwards-compatibility. It is the belief of the project that maintaining a greater level of compatibility will lower the overall cost of learning, building, and maintenance of software; making Backdrop better suited to lower-budget sites than Drupal 8. Join the webinar to find out why Backdrop was created and learn about it's unique Layout module.
