Central Texas

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.
This group should probably have more organizers. See documentation on this recommendation.

A group for Drupal Pros, Newbies, and regular users. All are welcome, and we will begin meeting as soon as we can gather a 5th person.

Ways to add cck units label to fields

Is there another way besides hook_form_alter to add units labels to cck form fields? Units like "kWh", "kWh/month" or even pre-field like "$".

(I keep including "Central Texas" in these little Qs, but I wonder if they've all switched to Joomla out there .. ;) )

Thanks

Drupal 6 Form API - setting #size doesn't seem to set for me?

For some reason my module's form's textfield is not obeying the size => 4 I'm asking it to be. Am I overlooking something (again)?
In addition to the whole code below, see the attached screenshot...
<?php
function project_calc_concrete_calculator() {
$form['instructions'] = array(
'#prefix' => '

',
'#value' => t('Enter concrete slab dimensions'),

Southwest Drupal Summit - Houston Jan 27-28, 2011

If you don't know, now you know: Drupal meet-up extraordinaire at the end of this month in Houston, Texas. It's a Thurs/Friday event, so your manager will happily foot the bill for this work-related training. Good for you, good for your organization:
http://www.swdrupalsummit.com/

There will be balloons, prizes, and buttered popcorn*.

I checked the Central Texas g.d.o group and didn't see a related posting..

  • I am not an official for the summit, and I can neither confirm nor deny whether there will be balloons, prizes, or buttered popcorn.

See you in Houston!

Drupal living in a subdirectory, needs to respond to www and not look like it's in a subdirectory

I am at a loss here.. A site I am working on has been under a /beta folder sub to webroot (/public_html/beta), and to make it live, rather than moving to root (and having naming conflicts with other lesser apps), we've opted to have htaccess rewrite ^www. over to /beta. Looks good at first, but now Drupal produces links and reference to webassets as /beta/contact, /beta/about, etc.

Is there a way around it? I have tinkered with $base_url in settings.php and RewriteBase in Drupal's .htaccess.

Would prefer not to employ a proxy. Is there something simple we are overlooking?

Drupalcon SF Lodging (~$20/night)

Hello Texas Drupalers!

Are you going to DrupalconSF? Interested in saving some money on lodging? I've been looking into options for cheap lodging and unless I do couch surfing I'll probably get a bed at a hostel. I found some great options on Hostel World with rates around $20/night, but I wanted to see how interested people were interested in sharing a private room. Some hostels are well within walking distance of the Moscone Center, include free wifi & free breakfast.
