There has been an up and coming categorization of engineers in the Drupal world that specialize in what we call DevOps. DevOps entails managing the infrastructure and workflow practices to deliver enterprise level sites in complex environments. This should span everything from automated testing, change management tools like puppet, branching strategies, continuous integration, performance and anything else that falls in this category.
Please make every effort to keep posts in this group on topic. We will do our best to assist, but this is not a dumping ground for random requests and development problems.

Want a different kind of Drupal Job?
Can you believe that this is not an advertisment looking for your standard backend drupal developer? For some reason, in my mind, those seem to translate to, "we really mean back-end, front-end, team lead, etc." ... This is not one of those.
If you've read this far you are probably not a normal job seeker. I expect that you are, in fact, not looking for a job. You are likely employed in an enterprise that has given you the gift of working at scale with Drupal. You are who I want to speak with.Read more

I want to fetch Views total number of records in page.tpl.php before views.tpl called. Is it possible to fetch that row total before views rendered? I am also using contextual filter for this view. Views have page type display.
I have also used module https://www.drupal.org/project/views_record_count. but this will print total number of records on Views header or footer. (Not outside of views)

I have checked Aquia site here(https://www.acquia.com/customer-success/learning-services/acquia-certifi...) and found there are four types of certification.
Acquia Certified Developer Exam
Acquia Certified Developer-Back End Specialist Exam
Acquia Certified Developer-Front End Specialist Exam
Acquia Certified Drupal Site Builder Exam
But which certification Team Leam/Project Manager should do? Why this four certification? Who should do which certification? Can anyone explain. Do I need to all four certification?
I created a module using hook_rules_action_info. I can access the menu in Rules and I wrote a function in the module that takes numbers 1-10 and I shuffles them up to apply them to fields as to create a random pool. When I dpm the variable $numbers I see the array as integers displaying, but I am tiring in vain to use 'provide' as described in some tourtorials but I can not get it to be accessed by the entity api? I do have a return at the end of the function that does the number shuffle. I feel this is where I am doing something wrong? Or is there something else?
drupal generates a considerable load on the web server and can quickly become resource constrained there, having multiple web servers also increases the the redundancy of your deployment. it is always a system engineering perspective to take care the platform of drupal, i have seen a site with minimum memory to be ran is 4G, at the same time it is still slow. Handling the platform well that delivering your web service could enhance end-user experience, and at the same time saving costs.Read more

About Extreme Drupal
Formerly known as the High Performance Drupal Meetup, this event covers Drupal scalability, performance and benchmarking as well as devops, deployment, infrastructure, high performance hosting, monitoring and highly repeatable processes.
All are welcome but this is not a meetup for beginners.
We've been meeting since April, 2011, in a variety of locations around the Greater Los Angeles Area. Also, this meetup has been held at coffeeshops in the past and the addition of caffeine makes our meetings feel as if they go faster and faster as the night goes on.Read more
David Arnold https://github.com/DavidXArnold will be walking through some of the more technical parts related to chef development. The presentation will cover the components of newmedia's skeleton chef cookbook and how we use them to rapidly test, deploy, and update a project. The skeleton that we have built leverages chef metadata and uses tools such as ruby linters, rake, rspec, and travis. If you have any interest in learning how to use Chef in your deployments, this will be a great presentation.
We are attempting to broadcast these in a public space utilizing google plus pages (which suck btw). They do give us broadcasting capabilities to the public. The online poriton of the meetup will be visible at https://plus.google.com/events/cn34kdrp1go3bkimq63us7q79pg ... Contact me if you are interested in broadcasting your local meetup through this medium.Read more
