Styles API Module allows other modules or themes to register theme templates on a YAML file (replacing hook_theme()) and provide a repository for all themes registered.
This will give more order to theme definitions, taking them away form code.
But moreover in this way themes and modules could gather information of registered themes implementation.
For example a module could add select field to forms, providing a UI to easily assign predefined templates for elements, blocks or regions.

Hi folks! The Seacoast Drupal User Group is having it's August 2015 meetup on Thursday, the 6th in Portsmouth, NH.

This month will be devoted to Drupal 8. Instead of having one presentation, we're asking folks to prepare brief show-and-tell sessions. Please bring a D8 theme you're working on, demo a module you like, or do a walk-though of a Drupal 8 site.

Join us at the NHDevDays 2 sprint in Portsmouth, New Hampshire June 5-7.
Thanks to funding from the Drupal Association via Drupal 8 Accelerate to cover travel expenses two of the Drupal 8 theme system maintainers – joelpittet and Cottser – will be in attendance leading the sprint and providing guidance.
The sprint will be focused on resolving the two remaining theme system criticals around autoescape and SafeMarkup:
