Before and after Drupalcon
Drupalcon Paris gave me an excuse to go on a European vacation. I believe many others are in the same situation as myself. While planning my adventure I created an entire month worth of activities for myself in Europe. What are your plans?
I arrive in Amsterdam August 19th and will be heading to Belgium for a music festival in Hasselt called Pukkelpop - http://www.pukkelpop.be
The weekend before Drupalcon I will be attending a music festival in Paris called Rock en Seine - http://www.rockenseine.com

It is fixed now, and you can go ahead with the Early Birds.
Due to this delay, we add one day to the deadline, which is now July 13th.
This also means, that the voting on sessions will be prolonged one day (same deadline), as otherwise you did not have a chance to vote.

The session proposals are done and ready.
Now you still have some time to be able to vote on them, so we can see which sessions are on the top of your lists and plan the schedule accordingly.

Read moreWhere to stay in Paris?
I'm about 95% sure I'm going to DCParis but one hitch that I and several of my colleagues have had is this; where should I stay while in Paris if I'm going alone? Going as the sole representative of an organization, renting an apartment by oneself doesn't really make sense. Is there a wiki or anything to see if others are looking for roommates for an apartment, or some recommended hotels, as was on the DrupalCon North America site?

This page is for discussion about the wiki page What food do you want to eat at DrupalCon Paris?.... Please read the wiki page and then make comments on this page.
Also, please be bold and edit the wiki page directly if you feel you can add to the menu or logistics - so we can hand this to the caterers in the next few days.

Use this wiki to suggest the food that you want to see at DrupalCon Paris. Please be as specific as possible. We are also discussing the issues.
We need attractive, delicious and healthy food at DrupalCon to keep us all awake, alert and most productive. Having attractive food will encourage people to stay in the venue for lunch and so increasing the value of the event as a space for people to network together.
Proposed Menu
It seems the caterer wants to present us with bite sized bits of food that we can eat on the go or load on to a plate but which does not require cutlery. Here's what could ask for:
- Salad bowls - tongs must be provided to avoid contamination
- Carrot sticks
- Cherry tomatoes
- Cucumber sticks
- Celery sticks
- Lettuce leaves small (suggest Lettuce Little Gem variety http://www.edhat.com/site/tidbit.cfm?id=817)
- Dips - serving spoons must be provided to avoid contamination
- Hummus
- Tzatziki
- Guacamole
- Meat on a stick:
- Tuna and Salmon
- Chicken
- Beef
- Carbohydrates
- Bread slices
- Sautéed potatoes
- Dessert:
- Fruits (suggest we avoid really exotic fruits as they will deteriorate very fast):
- Apples, Pears, Oranges and Bananas
- Drinks:
- From water fountain with bottle. Make sure it's pure spring water.
- Coffee, tea and hot water and selection of herbal teas.
Previous Notes
Salads
- All salad dressings must be on the side: including olive oil, lemon juice, vinaigrette and any "mysterious mayonnaise".
- Carrot sticks. But have to be cut fresh in the morning as cut carrots tend to get a bit manky if left for too long.
- Green leaves: lettuce; although baby spinach keeps fresh longer
- Fresh sprouts
Vegetarian
- Ratatouille
- Simple with no vinegar. See: http://www.beyond.fr/food/ratatouille.html
- Benefit: can be served hot or cold
- Risk: could be messy if spilt
- Soup:
- Risk: could be messy if spilt
- Tomato
- Lentil
- Hummus
- Benefit: it is served cold
- Risk: near pure fat [objection: near pure fat?? Nearly pure chick peas with some tahini, garlic and lemon ... not even any olive oil in it]
- Falafel
- Benefit: can be served hot or cold
- Risk: fat and thirst-inducing (reduce fat by frying them less)
- Most vegetarians like protein included in a meal
- protein = soy, legumes+grains, etc.
- for ovo-lacto vegetarians, add dairy & eggs
- Vegetarians are diverse, avoid the tendency to pigeonhole them
- some are strict vegans
- some aren't strict vegetarians, but simply avoid certain types of meat, and/or eat meat sparingly
- because of this, three meal options tend to be better than two (avoid a choice between only a vegan meal and a beef meal, for example)

Hi everybody !
I hope you're doing fine and you've already booked your plane tickets to fly to Paris next September, except from Mrs Übercart. Christina, hopefully, we'll be able to say hello to you during the conference thanks to MSN/Skype and a webcam.
Amy and I decided to set up a survey in order to know what your expectations are for your stay in Paris. We came through with a bunch of questions. The survey is quite short, it will take you 5 minutes to answer it through this link:
