Upcoming deployments: CDN switch for Drupal.org
We have successfully switched all of the Drupal.org sub-sites over to our CDN (Content Delivery Network) provider. On July 2nd we will be pointing Drupal.org (www.drupal.org) at our CDN. This deployment improves our ability to serve static files (images, javascript, css, patches, etc.) and improves our network routes outside of North America.
Looking for community feedback
Community Tools Team is working on new layout for user profiles on Drupal.org. The first iteration of mockups is now open for community feedback.
Read moreRedesigned Drupal.org profile page: your feedback needed!
Hi everyone! We're in the process of redesigning the profile page on Drupal.org, and we need the community's feedback! You can find the issue at: https://www.drupal.org/node/2281763.
Specific feedback needed:
- Assuming that we're keeping the current theme, does the organization of information make sense on the page?
- Is there any new information we should be collecting on profiles? Since this will require refactoring several of the data elements in profiles, we have a great opportunity to allow users to show/share more about themselves.

Upcoming deployments: improvements to comments
You may have noticed that Drupal.org user profiles now let you upload your picture. These will be shown with comments. You can see a preview on the staging site, the HTTP user/password is drupal/drupal: in the issue queue (example) and forum (example). You can log in with your Drupal.org username and password to test more.

A while ago I shared that we are trying to better understand who plays what role in the Drupal Community. A small team of Association Board and staff have done some interviews with about 20 community members and now we want to get a broader understanding - what are the issues that concern you, and who should be doing the work to address them?
We're reaching out to our most active community members to ask you to complete a survey about who you think should be doing what in our community.

Greetings from your friendly neighbourhood Drupal.org Software Working Group!
https://drupal.org/node/2261945 has a proposal + mockups on a new way to handle feature requests for Drupal.org in order to help both the Drupal.org Software Working Group and other working groups prioritize the feature roadmap for Drupal.org. Since this tool will become the method through which the Drupal community (in the widest sense of the word) makes known their Drupal.org needs/wants/desires, we'd love to hear your comments and feedback on the proposal.

Reinventing Drupal.org
Seven years ago this month, Dries presented the State of Drupal in front of a few dozen developers at the Open Source Content Management System Summit on the Yahoo! campus in Sunnyvale, California. Drupal 5 had just come out, PHPTemplate was all the rage, and everyone was abuzz about the news that the Nigerian Prime Minister was using Drupal for his blog.
Today, Drupal is used by the President of the United States and nearly every other government on the planet, DrupalCons are attended by thousands of people, and PHPTemplate will soon be replaced by Twig in Drupal 8. The Drupal project and community have grown rapidly in a very short amount of time.
