This is group for people interested in developing custom drupal distributions for health professionals and industry.
Science Collaboration Framework (SCF)
I came across this distribution in the Science Applications group. It seems to be primarily focused on creating communities of biomedical researchers and fostering research collaboration.

I am trying to build a new Patient Portal site for exposing Personal Health Record information to meet Meaningful Use measures of timely access for out EHR. I am planning to expose that PHI through a web service from our EHR and build a custom module in Drupal to make that data accessible through the portal.
I am looking for examples of sites in production or development that expose Protected Health Information through Drupal.

Hello,
I'm using the mailhandler module to allow healthcare professionals to add content to websites via email. Our sites use tags to organize content, so it's necessary that the e-mail submission contains the proper tags. I've played a lot with the 6.x-1.8 release of mailhandler. It works, but there are a few "gotchas". I'd like to know future plans for the module to see if these might be addressed.
Here are the "gotchas".
- If the e-mail contains HTML content, tags don't work
- there is no 'free-tagging'. The tag sent in the email must already exist.
Hodges model - future global health project for Drupal
Hi everyone
I am based in NW England working in Community Mental Health in Ormskirk. I'm a member of the BCS Nursing Specialist Group, RCN IN group and been interested in IT in health since 1980. I wrote computer aided learning programs on the BBC micro - yes I'm getting on a bit... ;-)
I've done work in data standards, and on the NHS CRS local implementation. Since 1998 I've had a website for a health and social care model called Hodges model. The site is static and needs completely revamping. I'm learning Drupal (and Ruby) to create a new website and possibly a community.

Hi All,
My first post as a new member of this group. Glad to be here. I work as an all-purpose IT person at our local health region in Newfoundland, Canada. I'm now in the process of developing tools that help people across the region, and across the country have discussions and collaborate on policy.

The latest X-Prize (http://www.xprize.org/future-x-prizes/healthcare-x-prize) relates to healthcare in the United States and the enormous challenges it faces.
Not the least of these is electronic medial records (EMR), which US healthcare companies are reluctant to deal with. In the world of Big Health, $20B to fix EMR is a drop in the bucket. In the open source community $1M would be beyond generous to fund an initiative. Something like 30% of every dollar spent on healthcare is devoted to the keeping of paper records.

Getting things started
Hi, I'm a Pharmacy student who is looking to working in the informatics sector of health care. I believe Drupal can be a platform for a health care CMS.
We should get things started by listing features that are:
- Essential for the distribution
- Good to have
And then work from there.

Drupal as a Health Care CMS
First Let me introduce my self. My name is Dr Sreeram Penna, I am trainee surgeon in Liverpool Surgical Rotation, United Kingdom. My idea to start a venture for custom drupal distribution for Health came as I was reading this Dries post. Health care industry is complex and very diverse. Its IT needs are broad. In my opinion the scope of a health care CMS are

It looks like this group is going to be the one to handle the various aspects of Drupal Meets Medicine & Health Care. Personally, I have been a computer consultant for many different types of medical practices over the last 12 years, but the area I have had the most involvement in is home health care. One of the things I would really like to do is to develop a program for home health care agencies that doesn't limit their choices on what they can do with technology. It seems that most software out there is like that right now.
