Hoping I haven't worn out my welcome yet....

Has anyone ever successfully made a block with their starred items from GR? I'm fiddling with the Aggregator and haven't been able to make it work. I get "because of error "mismatched tag" on line 70." Any suggestions?

TIA.

Try the feed api

I haven't used the core aggregator much at all, as the functionality it offered was too limited for my needs --

However, the feedapi is an amazing piece of code -- I'd be curious if you would have the same error using the feedapi with the simplepie parser installed.

and re: "Hoping I haven't worn out my welcome yet...." -- Ask away! It's a big part of why this group exists.

Embedding feed in regular post

ebrittwebb's picture

Along similar lines, I've been wondering if there are any services out there that provide an tag or something like that so I could embed the output of an RSS feed into a standard wiki or blog page.

One specific instance of this is that I wanted to embed the output of http://del.icio.us/tag/Drupal+Education into a wiki page for this group. Del.icio.us provides a script to do this for bookmarks that I have tagged as such, but not for bookmarks that anyone has tagged this way. So, I thought perhaps one of the feed services out there provides this kind of embedded RSS feed script.

I cheated on this one

After several hours of looking at feedapi, the news aggregator module, and other things, I just finally went to Google Reader and used their "put a clip on your site" feature. It spat out the javascript, which I pasted into a new drupal block, and there we be.

I'm sure there are "better" ways to do this, but this method got the feed up and running on my site. So for now, it'll do.

put a google reader clip

Im trying to do the same by copying and pasting google provided HTML into area that follows "Pages", in a new block:

Pages:

at the same time choosing to
Show on every page except the listed pages.

but it wont work yet.

Appreciate if anybody can suggest what I am missing.

Could it be the input

Could it be the input filter? It should be full html.

google reader add block

finally, "add block" worked, "add menu" didnt.

input format full HTML.

THanks anyway.
