Thanks to all those who have been helping me along the way so far.
If you can, take a look at my site at www.elementalsource.com/drupal. I'm building it little by little. The school year is ending, which means more time to devote to the site, but also no student interaction for the summer. I hope to build my Teacher stuff section this summer (nothing there right now) -- resources on 21st century skills, curriculum, technology integration, etc.

Bob the site looks great!
Bob the site looks great! I'm a huge fan of rooplethemes myself, given the addtional block functionality. Looks like you are quickly getting the hang of things.
Plus, you get bonus points for the article talking about how Linux rules.

Thanks!
I do like those rooplethemes, especially for the reason you give -- great to be able to theme the blocks separately, but still keep the same basic color palette.
And that linux article is by a 6th grade student.

Looks good!
The site looks good in Safari. Everything seems to be in the right place. :)
I guess for navigation, I assume most people coming to your site know that there are student blogs here? Maybe a block with a list of links to participant blogs- by name?
And, not sure how the "google feed" block works, but if you can remove the white box and the blue border, it would fit in the site, and not stand out as much. Well it's not that important, more just a style thing, I think.

For the student blogs, that's something I haven't really figured out yet. Right now, I have a couple of classes there using OG. And I had one class blog a bit. I'm kind of torn between having the "walled garden" approach (all blog posts and class work are private), and opening it up a bit more to the public.Truthfully I haven't really figured it out yet. I'm also not sure if all the student blogs from a particular class should only be on that class's page, whether it's private or public.
As for the Google Feed block, I agree about that blue and white, but I haven't been able to figure out how to theme that. It's not a drupal thing, but some javascript from Google Reader thrown into a drupal block. I'd like to have the feeds come via the drupal aggregator, but after spending some time trying to make that work, I went to the Google Reader javascript, choosing function over form. Maybe this summer I'll have more time to tinker with it and get it working.
Again, thanks for the feedback.
