Is anyone using Drupal to connect their neighbors? (Twin Cities)

I am looking for Drupal folks interested in experimenting with Drupal to connect the neighbors on their own block. (or two)

Who's in?

At a minimum, E-Democracy.org can provide pizza and beer for those interested in a little hack event to put together some tools.

In addition to the latest social media, we are interested in ideas and tools about how to reach people on urgent matters via text as well as DrupalVOIP options to reaching elderly neighbors with voicemail calls.

The hack event would be a couple of months from now in St. Paul or Minneapolis.

Cheers,
Steven Clift

Node Clone and preventing a single CCK field from being copied

I'm sure the answer is already out there, but I can't seem to phrase my query correctly to turn it up. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I want to prevent a single CCK field from being copied over when a node is cloned. Or, I want to know that it is impossible so I can stop trying to figure out how to do it.

Drupal Code meetup?

Webform not sending e-mail?

Has anyone had the issue were your D7 webfrom won't send e-mails out to an e-mail that has the same domain name as the site?

The form is sending to all other e-mails fine.

For example:
Domain name is: gasmandesign.com
Web from e-mail set to: corey@gasmandesign.com

I believe this is a code issue in the D7 webform.

Please e-mail if you've have had this issue or solved it.

Thank you,
Corey

Advice/Resources for Upgrading from D6 to D7?

Hi Everyone,

Currently I work with three Drupal 6 websites and I'm trying to find a guide or any advice on the best way to upgrade these sites to Drupal 7. These sites are module heavy and there is a process setup that imports customer and product information into the drupal database.

To my understanding, there isn't a very easy way to do this. I'm hoping I don't have to go through just setting up brand new sites - please tell me there is a way to transfer information.

Also, do any of you out there do contract work?

Ever any problems not updating modules where no security problems?

Is there ever any problems with NOT updating modules when none of them are associated with any security problems? I always immediately update modules where there is a security issue, but I otherwise DO NOT update modules otherwise. Could this ever be a problem????

Webform 6.x-3.18 Additional Processing Code help

Hello,

I recently updated to Webform 6.x-3.18 and I noticed with this update that I no longer have the Additional Processing field (located under Webform Advanced Settings). I did some research to see how I can still make my form work and I came across a few pages:

http://drupal.org/node/1291574
http://drupal.org/node/1050656
http://www.drupalcoder.com/blog/additional-processing-in-drupals-webform...

So I decided to give the module approach a try (I've never had a module really work before, but there is a first time for everything, right?)

July 18th TCDUG meeting: Open Source Meets Open Kitchen Grill Off!

Start:
2012-07-18 18:00 - 21:00 America/Chicago
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

We're having our July general meeting one week early on Wednesday July 18th so we can mix things up a bit.

Join us as we combine our regular Drupal meetup with Intermedia Arts artist-in-residence Robert Karimi's deliciously fun Open Kitchen event which happens at the same time as ours each month. We've been threatening all year to come together -- now we're making good.

Open Source Meets Open Kitchen Grill Off!

We'll meet outside (weather permitting) in the courtyard behind Intermedia Arts to grill, eat, drink and socialize. Teams will be created mixing Drupal folks with Open Kitchen folks. Prizes will be awarded by committee of The People in 4 categories: Vegetables, Starch, and Protein, and best overall. Bring something to grill from your culture (however you choose to define this), something that goes with grilled food (from your culture), or show up to help a team out -- or just to eat & judge!!

In preparation for making this the greatest meetup ever, we're looking for sponsors. Email team@advantagelabs.com if you can provide:

  • grill
  • a small donation (up to $50)
  • other?

If you're interested in being on one of the grilling teams, email Robert -- we@thepeoplescook.org. You can check out more about Open Kitchen at http://www.intermediaarts.org/artist-in-residence-robert-karimi-open-kit....

We all know that the open source means much more to the local Drupal community than just software. Now let's show everyone what what our community can do away from our computers...
