Been thinking about providing my Drupal set-up as a "distribution" -> 2 questions

Been thinking about providing my Drupal set-up as a "distribution" (a complete prefab site that could be shared with other Occupy groups). This has raised 2 questions:

(1) Where-all does Drupal 6 store the site or root address? Is this all stored in
database tables, or does Drupal also write it elsewhere? Where-all in the db tables
(what tables) is the site's address or root address stored? (Of course, this
would have to be changed by everyone who uses the distributions, since their

RP Forum (Drupal 6)

I've implemented RP Forums (http://www.richardpeacock.com/blog/2010/10/rp-forum-drupal-6-module) on a Drupal 6 website. It has many of the features that are required for this project, but I noticed the navigation on it is terrible. Once I navigate from the main Forum page, there isn't a link to easily get back to the main Forum page.

So I was looking to setup breadcrumbs on this Forum, which should solve the problem. However, I'm not sure how to get the breadcrumb feature on here.

Any ideas or suggestions?

What libraries/coffee shops have the fastest Internet?

I'm working on the next edition of Swift Linux (http://www.swiftlinux.org). When it's ready to be released, I'll have 6 *.iso files with a grand total of close to 4 GB to upload. My Internet connection at home is only 768 kbps for the download (and even slower for the upload) and would require all day and all night to upload this much data. I'm looking for a connection at least 10 times as fast as my home connection.

Any interested in sprint at DrupalCamp Twin Cities on May 20th?

There's a great event called DrupalCamp Twin Cities going on May 18-19, 2012 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Since the event is fairly close to me, I've been thinking about organizing a Media sprint on Sunday, May 20th (as well as during the camp of course!). I'd like to gauge how many people would be seriously interested in attending a full-day sprint. Interested? Comment here!

March TC Drupal meetup this Wednesday!

Start:
2012-03-28 19:00 - 21:00 America/Chicago
Organizers:
Event type:
User group meeting

Join us for the March TC Drupal users group meeting this Wednesday from 7-9PM.

Minnesota was prominently and prolifically represented at DrupalCon Denver this past week. If you were there, come share your highlights with the rest of the community. Short, sweet, informal but informative is all we ask. Drupal coder meetup host Ray Tiley has already generously offered to talk about what he's learned about the state of Panels.

If you could not make it to Denver for the annual gathering, join us to learn what's in store for Drupal's future.

Remember that the 4th Wednesday meetup is now taking place at:

Advantage Labs at Intermedia Arts
2822 Lyndale Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55408

Parking available in the two enjoining lots to the north of the building (enter the driveway from Lyndale Ave).

This month, we have the exciting luck to be sharing the facility with another event -- the Open Kitchen Love at First Bite Friendly Dessert Contest -- hosted by our friend and co-working colleague Robert Karimi.

We'll have our own separate space in which to be all Drupally but we've also been graciously invited to participate in the dessert event. Check out the details at http://intermediaarts.org/artist-in-residence-robert-karimi-open-kitchen.

So, come prepared to share DrupalCon discoveries and/or a culturally specific dessert (Drupalicon cupcakes anyone?).

See you Wednesday!

Best sources of Drupal job leads

In addition to this group's meetings and happy hour events, what are the best sources of leads for Drupal jobs in the Twin Cities? (I will be attending this group's events regularly.)

Where would you recruit Drupal developers? I have started doing Drupal development on my own, and I'm interested in working as a Drupal developer.

Some sources of leads that I know NOT to rely on are:

One last appeal to Twin Cities Drupal people to help with Occupy Wall Street Drupal Site (an opportunity)

Re: http://99online.us -- an Occupy Wallstreet site and a way to serve your country.

I am making one last appeal to Twin Cities Drupal people to help with an Occupy Wall Street Drupal Site. This could be viewed as an opportunity, if you are pro-OWS and live in the Twin Cities, because my site is the only Occupy Wall Street site around the area (though there are a few in the US). [Most OWS webmasters, though, unwisely went with some WordPress with BuddyPress sort of kit -- and many of the sites run poorly.]

How do I enable clean URLs?

The clean URLs feature isn't working on my web site (http://www.dopplervalueinvesting.com). When I log into my admin page and go to Configuration -> Clean URLs, I get the button for running the clean URL test and the following error message:

Use URLs like example.com/user instead of example.com/?q=user.
Clean URLs cannot be enabled. If you are directed to this page or to a Page not found (404) error after testing for clean URLs, see the online handbook.

Also, the clean URL test fails.

Selecting a theme

I'm looking for advice on how to select a Drupal theme. What do you look for in selecting from the 289 available for Drupal 7? I'm not sure what exactly makes one theme more suitable than another for various tasks. That said, I see that one criterion I should aim for is maximum compatibility with different browsers.

Since I'm new to Drupal, I assume I should stick to something that's user-friendly, has been around for some time, and is widely used and supported. (That's the logic behind why I recommend Linux Mint for first-time Linux users.)
