Creating a wiki

I have created my first-ever Drupal web site called Doppler Value Investing (http://www.dopplervalueinvesting.com/). It's about my special version of value investing that estimates the intrinsic business value of a stock from free cash flow instead of earnings and book value.

I'd like to add a wiki to it. How do I do this?

Views Page versus Views Block?

Does anyone have a opinion which provides better performance: Creating a View and using a page type display; or Creating a Page and having a view created Block display only show on that page?

The reason I ask: I have View created Landing pages (Teaser list) for site sections, but other View created pages (say a list of users or teams) cannot be part of these landing pages (as far as I know).

So would it make more sense to create a Page (with a teaser), then have that View block show on that Page? Is there any huge performance hit to doing a bunch of these?

Or...?

Thanks,
Mark

Best module for emailing Users

Hello Fellow Twin Cities users,

I have an ever ponderously growing website I have set up and maintain for a local Youth Soccer club.
I recently added the ability to let Team Managers manage their Team pages and Calendars.

My question is : What is the best module that will let me select everyone in a specific Role and send out an email to them?

Seems like there should be a module for this, but to search through them all is a bit time consuming.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
mark a

How do I change a content type?

Question for my fellow Drupalers,

I created a content type for a blog, but now I want it to be called "SBAC News".

There has already been a ton of content created under "blog".

Here's the page:
http://smallbusinessadvocacycouncil.org/blog

All I really want is the blue header in the middle content area to say "SBAC News", instead of "Blog" but I can't figure out how to change that? I've attached an image of that page.

When I go into my content types to edit the name all I see is this:
Type: blog
The machine-readable name of this content type.

Drupal 7 Modules Document

Hi, All,

I have put together a document (attached) on what IMHO are some Useful Drupal 7 Modules. I wonder if any of you would be willing to take a look at it and advise me if I'm way off base or if I'm missing anything crucial.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Best,

Laurie

Is there an advantage (difference) with also uninstalling disabled modules?

I have several or many modules which are disabled. I have a Drupal Tweets admin menu that would seem to let me also uninstall the unused (disabled) modules. Is there an advantage (OR difference) with uninstalling disabled modules: Is there a difference at all or a performance difference one could get by uninstalling disabled modules?

Drupalcon - how do you handle it for your taxes

Of course, it is tax season and I am trying to get as much as I can taken off my business gross income. How do all the rest of you handle your costs for Drupalcon -- there is the cost for the actual meeting (I believe it was $450 last year) and then all the travel -- I put the actual meeting under training, but that does not give me 100% deduction.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

Where is list of Available but Unused Menu Items (assoc. with Views)

I have been able, upon occassion, to find a list of views that are associated with a menu items, but one which are not currently used. Any of them can be assigned to a menu via a simple dropdown. But, amazingly, now I cannot find a way to view these used menu items to put them in a menu. How did I ever get there before??? Where did they go???

TC Drupal meeting tonight -- note location change

Just a reminder that tonight's the night for the February TC Drupal users group meetup from 7-9PM! That's right, the meetings take place on the 4th -- not the last -- Wednesday of the month.

Also, please note that starting this month (tonight), there are two changes to get excited about. First, the location. From now on we'll be gathering at our new venue:

Advantage Labs at Intermedia Arts
2822 Lyndale Avenue South
Minneapolis, MN 55408

Parking is available in the lots north of the building. Come in the side door facing the parking lot -- there's a big Welcome sign over the door.

Second, the Twin Cities Drupal Commerce and Ubercart group has moved their monthly meeting from the 3rd Wednesday of the month to the 4th Wednesday of the month. Join them from 6-7PM, just before the TC Drupal meeting, to discuss all things e commerce and Drupal. This will also be a permanent change.

We're excited about the new location and back-to-back Drupal learning opportunities. We think you will be too. Join us!

Would local (Mpls) Drupal people help an OWS site?

Re: Possible help with national Occupy Wall Street site: http://99online.us (to make Drupal and the US movement proud)

In the past (in order to have the best site I can have), I have asked if anyone would like to do a sort of site "audit" -- to see how the whole thing is.

I am approaching this matter in an entirely different way, now.
It is clear I was asking too much. It seems maybe that it would be a lot less to ask if anyone would be
interested in helping with this site IN THE EVENT SOMETHING GOES A BIT WRONG (I guess, it is possible
