Re: site : http://99online.us
After upgrading the Drupal CORE from 6.24 to drupal 6.27 : The main navigation menu, under Create Content now shows Blog entry, Panel, and Poll for EVERYONE. Blog entry has permissions set just to Editors; Polls for Editors and Acitivist role; and Panel just for Admin.
When the menu items which people do not have rights to are clicked, they do get sent to "Access Denied" BUT why do these items show up in the menu anyway and how do I get rid of them

Hello! We're busy planning the 2013 DrupalCamp have narrowed our choices down to two dates: June 20-23 or June 27-30. Each date has pros and cons, and the planning group is evenly split on the question of the better date.
If you might attend the 2013 camp, which date works better for you? Let us know by responding to this poll. The poll closes on Friday, 12/21.
Our goal is to nail down our dates this week. Thanks so much for your input!

Drupal Database Best Practices?
I've been using Drupal now for a couple of years but I'm still learning how to program for Drupal and what the best practices are for this.
My question is about adding tables to the database. For the tables that I need to use on my site, is it better practice to add these to the Drupal database (prefixing them so that they are easily separated from the Drupal tables) or should I create a separate database for site specific tables?
Thanks,
Dan

Two students from my Web Programming/Drupal course came up with a Views question that I'm not able to figure out. Linking blocks to other blocks dynamically.
They want to have a block showing a list of vocabulary terms. In this case types of Recipes. On the same page they want to have a block showing all the recipe titles available for any category that is selected. Then, when the user clicks on a Recipe Title the full recipe displays (they already solved this part of the problem).

November's Twin Cities Drupal User Group meeting is coming up the Wednesday AFTER Thanksgiving -- November 28th from 7-9PM at Intermedia Arts. We're excited to have E-Democracy.org leading this month's presentation and discussion:
Using Drupal to Communicate with your Neighbors
Presenter/Facilitator: Tim Erickson, Bill Bushey & Steve Clift - E-Democracy.org
E-Democracy.org is interested in learning about and supporting the development of modules and strategies that connect neighbors with one another and help build community - at the street level.
At the November Twin Cities Drupal User Group meeting, E-Democracy.org staff will lead a discussion that includes the following:
- Short introduction to how E-Democracy.org is already using online technology to connect individuals with their neighbors.
- Look at some of the ways that Drupal is actually being used to build real world “community” at the neighborhood level. (Do you have any examples or suggestions that you would like to share?)
- Help brainstorm modules and tools that would be necessary and/or useful in creating a Drupal Block Club site. We’d like to explore the possibility of incorporating SMS and VOIP technology in a Drupal site, designed to help neighbors connect and communicate important information. We’re looking for your ideas and suggestions.
Please come prepared to share ideas and suggestions about how neighborhood organizers might use Drupal in a block club setting and what modules/tools you would use to maximize participation and accessibility to as many neighbors as possible, including those with limited internet access and limited technological skills. We encourage creative thinking around the use of voice (VOIP) and text (SMS) technology.
As always, feel free to bring your favorite beverage to share. We'll provide pizza.
When: Wednesday November 28th 7-9PM.
Where:
Advantage Labs @ Intermedia Arts
2822 Lyndale Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55408
Do any VOIP Drupal installs interface with Organic Groups (and perhaps OG Mailinglist)?
We are gearing up for an initial gathering in the Twin Cities based on this interest - http://groups.drupal.org/node/251383 - and I'd like to point people toward VOIP Drupal - http://groups.drupal.org/voip-drupal - implementations connecting small groups of people in two-way communication.
