Can Media be uninstalled?

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I love what media is and what it wants to become. However it just isn't jiving with my plans just yet.

Am I able to uninstall the latest dev without issues ? If not what would be a best practice for hiding it.

Unfortunately these is an issue with the uninstall of in several of the media_ modules including media_youtube (http://drupal.org/node/1164184) and media_vimeo (http://drupal.org/node/1180030)
