Hi,
As part of my MSc in Multimedia I am working on a Drupal7 ePortfolio system. The system is targeted towards graduate students seeking employment. My research is focused on how employers feel about ePortfolio systems to support the job application process. I am currently conducting a survey in order to get an insight on what employers like and dislike in regards to ePortfolios. Collecting feedback through the survey is proving challenging as responses are very limited. I am hoping that the Drupal in Education community will help me with this. The survey consists of 10 questions and can be found at:

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Is this planned to be a public drupal distribution or a single site? Could be very powerful if it was structured with features that could be shared with other distributions.

I agree with btopro here - can you give some more details about your plans for development?
If you are planning a distribution that others can use, you will find it a lot easier to get participation in your survey. If this is going to be a one-off site, then that will generally be of less interest.

At this time, I dont fully understand the process of making it publicly available, but this is something I will look into. One thing for sure is that this project will not be wasted, and once development is complete, people will be able to use it for free.
At this moment in time, development is coming along quite nicely. The research questionnaires I am distributing are an important aspect in the development, as the system should conform to what employers want. At the same time, I have student questionnaires, which should help me also develop a system which students will find simple to use. Although I am marketing this to be used by students, this is more for the purpose of my research, but the system could potentially be used by anyone looking for employment.
Once development is completed to a good quality, I will run it through a development life cycle in order to have people test it out and I will make improvements based on their opinions. I am really trying to make this a system people will use, which is why there is so much emphasis on research.
Hope this answers your questions and if you would like to know anything else, feel free to ask.
Many thanks

Distribution vs use
A Distribution is publicly available for download. Essentially you'd create the site / system using Drupal best practices and then release it back to the community. It's D7 so I can't say you could use Seedling to streamline this but even just assembling everything and doing a DB dump is a great way of giving it out to others once it's done. While I know Bill and I would both say you should make it a full-blown distribution, at least giving people access to what you assembled would be better then nothing.
