Has anyone had any experience with setting up/using Drupal as a Personal Learning Environment or Personal Learning Network?
I'm looking at experimenting with a 10th grade class.
Also, if you know of any Best of Class PLE's you can point me to, that would be great.
TIA,
Bob

Absolutely
Hello, Bob,
We've done a fair amount of work with this, for teacher to teacher interaction, teacher training programs, and more traditional classes.
One client site we set up is YouthVoices -- the design is pretty minimalistic, and the functionality is centered around creating and sharing: http://youthvoices.net/
Two core elements we like to include in these sites: multiple group types (allows for more formal, generally teacher-led spaces alongside less formal, student-led spaces); and node-based profiles (the Bio module in D5, and Content Profile in D6).
Cheers,
Bill

I really like what's happening there, but that's not exactly what I have in mind. The problem is that what I have in mind isn't fully formed!
I also joined up over at Social Media Classroom and am taking a look at that as well.
Thanks,
Bob
