Several of the organizers of Drupal Design Camp LA 2012 have scheduled an open conference call on on September 18, 2012 between 6-6:45pm Pacific (9-9:45pm Eastern). Anyone who's interested in being part of the organizing effort or is just interested in seeing how this conference is coming together is welcome to join us!

What's Drupal Design Camp LA 2012?

DDCLA 2012 is our Drupal design, theming, accessibility and usability conference in Los Angeles, California. Our second annual DDCLA conference will be at Droplabs in Downtown Los Angeles, California, on October 12, 13 & 14, 2012.

Meeting minutes

During this call we had Oliver, Christefano, Chhun and Kathy. The following minutes were from the part of the meeting between 6-6:40pm (i.e. when I was on the call). More minutes may be posted below.

Announcements:

  • We learned this week that io/LA had a personnel change and we're back at high velocity once again
  • Additional insurance is not actually necessary for this event
  • Only one training company (Exaltation of Larks) is signed up at this point for the training day on Friday, October 12th

Discussions:

  • Everyone on the call was brought up to speed on the current state of event planning
  • DDCLA 2012 has been reduced from 3 days to 2 (Friday and Saturday, October 12th & 13th, 2012)
  • How will io/LA's construction schedule affect our event? It won't, since construction is being done at night
  • Website for registrations and session proposals? Our development and theme partner for this has been very busy
  • On Saturday, October 12th we will need a door person. io/LA is checking with building management and internal resources to see if they can handle this. If not, DDCLA team will be notified

Action items:

  • Christefano is to post his portion of the minutes (done!)
  • Oliver is updating the issue queue at https://drupal.org/project/issues/1705954 with tasks related to parking, budget and food trucks
  • io/LA is getting back to us about parking, food trucks, a door person, and their construction schedule
