Has anyone come up with a teacher/parent conference booking system yet? Every quarter our teachers need to book conference with parents. Teachers wish to list there available times and have the parents select a time-slot and book the appointment. Is there an easy module for booking appointments? I tried booking_timeslots but it messes up my school calendar, should I use the signup module and make every time slot a node?

Check CiviCRM and sfschool.module
I implemented and have this running at my kids school (http://sfschool.org/home/index.shtml)
I have written a set of blog posts on this:

there are still some missing pieces but we used this quite nicely to schedule 130+ student-teacher conferences over the last week

booking online courses
Hi
Do you think this can work for booking online courses or do you have any recommendations for a module that can can handle on-line course bookings.
Thanks
Depends on your definition of booking online courses ..
there is another section in the SFSchool module that allows parents to sign their children up for extended care "classes". So there is some primitive class management stuff out there. I've not yet done the sign-in / sign-out part as yet, but am about to start working on that which will tie into billing and invoicing

OK - I have my parent/teacher conference schedule done!
lobo -- Thanks for the heads-up on CiviCrm, I'm going to look more into it with a nonprofit that I am working with. But... for our school I decided to use the signup module with quicktabs. I have post images below. I got the application up in two days and it's working great. Parents pick a time, sign-up, receive an immediate email confirmation and a reminder email one day before their appointment. The Signup module is well maintained by Derek Wright.
--t14-- I am currently working on using signup for our class registration, they do have Ubercart intergration, but I have not tested it yet. I have until December to complete the class registration section -- so far the signup module is the best that I have found for this type of application.

Each Time slot a node ?
Hi Rosemeria,
I am trying to do the exact same thing for a non-profit organization I'm collaborating with. So I am very much interested in your method and I have a few questions. I hope you will have time for replying.
I would like to know :
- Are your teachers users with specific roles, or nodes ?
- Is each time slot a unique node ? Meaning that for every teacher you have to create as many nodes as possible appointments ?
- in the case of teachers as users : How do you link the time slots with the teachers ?
I don't know if you plan to create a tutorial explaining how you achieved this, but it would be great.
Thank you in advance,
Nicolas
