Responsive Slideshow Notes
Notes for this agenda item...
Showing Method A tonight, but also threw in Method B as an alternative.
Method A
As described in this video (with some modifications): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MboDby9-PCE
Need these modules:
Views: https://www.drupal.org/project/views
Flexislider: https://www.drupal.org/project/flexslider
Video Embed: https://www.drupal.org/project/video_embed_field
Fit Vids: https://www.drupal.org/project/fitvids (for responsve video)
One cool thing about the above is it includes responsive videos and images in the same slideshow (if you think video in slideshows is cool - not).
Notes:
- If mixing images and video, need to make the images the same aspect ratio as the video so that height of images is same as for video.
Method B
This method is mentioned by Jason Pamental on this podcast: http://talkingdrupal.com/072 (51:30 - 57:15)
This is more of a “rip it apart and do it yourself” method. Not sure if it is necessary as Method A seems to work well.
Need these modules:
Same as above plus:
Semantic Views: https://www.drupal.org/project/semanticviews
The idea on this one is you just create a bare bones list for the view, then do the rest (flexslider classes, etc.) kind of manually.
