I am trying to make it easier for customers to send directions to a phone off of a website. Is there any new technology out there that can help with this? I have been reading on drupal and I have found that you can send phone to computer but I have not heard of anything that does computer to phone technology.

No Directions
I looked at this and tested it but it did not have location information along with it such as GPS location. I am trying to do the directions aspect of web design.

The directions aspect of web design? What does this mean?
Maybe you need to better explain what you're trying to do.

Basically I am trying to make it so instead of a customer having to use mapquest or google maps, they could send directions straight to a mobile phone.
Still not enough information.
Still not enough information. Are the directions going to be textual or graphical (or both)? Where does GPS come into this? Where does design come into this, for that matter?

From what you have written
From what you have written you will have a hard time finding what you are after, it sounds like you need to actually plan this idea out and hire some professional developers.
This 'automagic directions straight to a mobile phone' might be more complicated than you might think at first.
Found it
After a lot of searching, I finally found something that works! It is called Zhiing. A company called ZOS Communications has produced it. Its an application for smart phones that you can send your gps location and step by step directions. I also found that they have a code generator that can create html code and create a button to go on a contact page. was wondering if anybody could get this to work with drupal. And if so can i see the link so I can see how you made it look?
Hmm ok I can kind of
Hmm ok I can kind of understand what you were trying to do, this would be handy on something I am working on, although that it is a closed services with limited support for location - http://zhiing.com/where.php doesn't help me. You could just email/sms some google map location, from there most people know how to get directions, but from your GPS location you probably need a platform specific application.
If its just embed code learn a bit of drupal theming, simply add it to a .tpl file, there are actually a bazillion ways to do it just depends on where you want this to show up, a good video to start learning drupal themes http://mustardseedmedia.com/podcast/episode3 or bigger picture stuff from here http://drupal.org/node/171194.
thank you for the links for
thank you for the links for drupal. I have done more research on the company and the interesting thing that I found was that it enhances the experience of google maps and email. You are able to send gps location and data straight to a phone, which as far as I have seen there is nothing like that on the market right now. Did you decide to try it on your site? I want to see what their icon would look like on a website.
