I have seen a few posts about problems with showing the custom CCK fields that are included in a book page but have not seen any suggestions toward a solution for this issue. I have created an area for teachers to post curriculum maps using the book module. As you would expect, they want a printed version. Only the title and the description show up in the "Printer friendly version". Though these are nicely nested in the proper hierarchy of pages, the custom fields are left out. Any thoughts as to how to have them included in the printer version?

Thanks for sharing that -- it does the trick perfectly!
(edit) although this version does not collect the links in the cck fields and list them on the bottom of the page. We'll actually be needing something along these lines over the next few weeks. I'll check the issue queue and see if anything progresses; otherwise we'll get to this eventually.(end edit)

Grab a copy of the newest release of the module
A version was released today with this fix -- http://drupal.org/node/71391 -- this fix seems pretty solid.

I now have the new version
I now have the new version of PRINT and it works like a charm . . . but not for the Book node. I still get the "standard" Printer friendly link on the page and not the "new and very much improved" Printer friendly link in its place. It works perfectly for other nodes like the Story node which now print previews with associated fields and all of the other very cool information. Somehow I feel like I am just a click away from the right answer for the Books as well.
