Hello there,
im Izak stein, student of Technical uni. in Kosice. Next year i gonna finish my school with diploma work which is based on swaping our education system from moodle to drupalED system.
But there is a problem. We can not downloand drupalED from any site.
Anyone can help uz with that. Or is there any other option to how to make drupal education system. Is there something else common.
Thank for your reply.

We pulled the link to the download
The most current release of DrupalEd was based on D5.
The Drupal codebase has evolved a lot since then; install profiles have evolved since then; and Context and Features now exist.
In short, DrupalEd was out of date; three years ago, it provided a useful starting point. Now, not so much.
We'll be putting some work out in this area for D7, but they will be features-based, and more extensible.
Cheers,
Bill

I was looking for the same
Hi,
I came on here looking for the same thing. So, if DrupalEd is out of date, where would someone coming in fresh looking for a Drupal 6 distribution (a la OpenAtrium) to fulfil the needs of online training / education start?
Is it a case of self-assembly with contrib at this moment in time?
Is there any work being done / coordinated for a DrupalEd v2 (for want of a better description)?
Is there a roadmap anywhere?
Are you looking for contributors / helpers?
there's help for the DYI method
Do-it-yourself is the way to go.
There are several approaches in terms of module selection and configuration. Bill Fitzgerald's book (Drupal for Education and E-Learning) provides an excellent roadmap. I used it as a guide for my first edu-site; used a modified version for my second; and next term will take it even further away from his primer as I become more comfortable with customizing to suit the needs I meet in the classroom.

You should also take a look at Eduglu: http://eduglu.com/
We will also be releasing an install profile for out Knight Drupal Initiative work in the next 4-6 weeks: http://groups.drupal.org/node/11585 - although the main focus of this is around community media, it also has uses within educational contexts.
But with that said, a certain portion of this will likely be DIY. The ideal process: define your use-case in technology-agnostic language (ie, no Drupal-specific parlance, just what you want actual people to do). Then, adopt and adapt the technology that makes the most sense.
Cheers,
Bill
