Orange County Drupal User Group Issues
It seems I now have had to re-join the Orange County GDO group for about the fifth time this year. I joined ages ago and suspiciously my membership to this group was removed multiple times - conveniently after I post event nodes to this group. Early in the year when this happened I thought it was an issue with GDO (growing pains going to D6), but now that I have seen this happen repeatedly I can only assume someone is abusing powers or there is a fundamental flaw with this groups' node/permissions.

Looking to put together a show at a local club of all artists/musicians/bands who host their sites in Drupal. Call it DrupalCore Fest, or DrupalRox or something like that. I do not have a date, but have a potential space. Sometime in the fall, probably.
Or maybe you are a developer/designer who has built a site for a musician who could talk them into doing an event. Let me know! :)
My thought is to do this as part fund-raiser for the Drupal Association.
Reply if you are interested and the name of your project and site.
Read moreHelp pick the next DrupalCon city for 2012
The DrupalCon North American Regional Organizing Group is looking for input from us, the Drupal community, to help pick the location for DrupalCon North America being scheduled for 2012 (and beyond). They have put together a brief “straw poll” intended to gauge community interest about various cities that have been suggested as potential good locations by our event management company. Vote however you wish, but I'd like to point out that the list does already have a few West coast cities, like Las Vegas, and many of us wouldn't mind to see DrupalCon nearby again.

We’re giving all LA Drupal members a discounted registration rate of $200 for Open Source Bridge, the conference for open source citizens on June 1–4, 2010, in Portland, Oregon. That’s $25 off the Early Bird rate, and $100 off our regular registration. User groups are very important to us and our organizers are heavily involved in the local tech community. Use the coupon code "osbugluv" to register for only $200 when you select either an Early Bird Registration (through April 1st) or a Regular Registration (after April 1st).

Is anyone looking for 500GB SATA drives? I need to upgrade our office's RAID and am looking at getting Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA drives in bulk on eBay. While it would come out to about $50 for each 500GB drive, we only need 4 out of the ten that are being auctioned. If this is something you're interested in, let me know privately or in the comments here and we can meet at one of the local Drupal meetups.

Read moreInternationalization
Hi,
I've set up a site in Italian at www.[mydomain].com/it (www.[mydomain].com is not a Drupal site), I have the equivalent content in German and am trying to set up a language selector to select between the languages.
If I select the “Path prefix only” option on the language configuration page, would it make the German content to show at www.[mydomain].com/it/de instead of www.[mydomain].com/de?
For the Italian site, the homepage was created as a template (page-front.tpl.php), what should I do for the German version? [I guess I can search online for this]
Read moreCan LA based companies help with the Drupal.org redesign?
Drupal.org is going through a redesign and is asking for companies to volunteer. http://groups.drupal.org/node/37064
Right now there is only one SoCal Drupal company listed to help and I think some LA firms should consider volunteering to help produce the next Drupal web site, which is bound to get even more traffic come 2010 and D7's release. If you or your company is serious in getting on the list of contributors then review the details here: http://groups.drupal.org/node/37064 (and tell them LA Drupal sent you)

I hope I am posting this in the right place - pardon me if I have "done wrong".
I am interested in Drupal as a CMS. I have been combing the web to locate and meet skilled and experienced Drupal developers to identify those who would be interested in working together on a start-up. Am I in the right place? If not, could someone nudge me in the right direction? It would be great if anyone knew of regular meetings where I could attend and meet these types of individuals - preferrably Orange County or the Inland Empire.
Thanks in advance!
